Prototype Small Drill Ship

This was an experiment to build a hybrid ship which could be used as a drill ship on a planet, and also be used to travel to space. It was a failure. It worked but was unstable.

If you can find a way to modify it to eliminate the following issues, I would be grateful:

Ship is much too top heavy. Becomes very unstable when filled with ore.

I originally made it with no landing gear, I wanted something that could drill down as far as needed with nothing wider than the drill head, but unfortunately it kept falling over. Almost impossible to right it when it falls over.

So, then I built the outriggers with landing gear on them but they aren't very good either.

It was also unable to reach orbit, I don't think I had enough ice on board. Or else not enough hydrogen thrusters, I'm not sure.

I don't know whether it is worth it to work on this any further, I would appreciate your comments:

I like things symmetrical, so I did 16 drills (4x4 square)
4 Large (small grid) Atmo Thrusters
4 Large Hydrogen Thrusters
1 Large Reactor
4 Medium Cargo Containers
4 Oxygen Generators
1 Hydrogen Tank
8 small atmo thrusters for positioning
16 small hydro thrusters for positioning


Since my plan was to use this on the planet and in space, I did three cockpits, one for using it on the planet, one facing towards the drills as if I was using it in space to drill into an asteroid, and one facing the connector for travelling in space, and docking.
