Two weeks ago the Altian military staged a coup, seizing control of the local government, stating indecisiveness as the reason for the mutiny. Over the last week and a half they have begun militarizing/fortifying the capital into a large Base of Operations. Fast forward a week/it is believed there have been human rights violations, there is talk of a possible execution of the sitting Governor as well.

Actionable intel places the Governor at his compound in the capital, at the heart of the city, satellite images have revealed that anti-aircraft weapons are in place along with anti-tank. Two SOF squad will be deployed to a carrier off the coast with the intention of extracting the governor, from there we'll pick you up at an abandoned outpost to the North.

HUMINT has recently come in within the last few hours that the Russians are backing the coup possibly/intend to deploy their own SOF forces to Pyrgos shortly. Time is of the essence to get in, extract the governor/EXFIL before the governor is turned over or worse.
