The Nebulon-B has the tall vertical section on the bow. You could build a base (doesnt have to be the full length of the ship), allowing that vertical part to fit into a slot on the base (similar to a piece of toast in a toaster), and some supports to hold part of the mid section up. Or you could go all out and do an entire base to contain the whole ship but there would be limits on where it could be placed with out a lot of digging.
You could also split it into two bases and instruct on how far appart to place them. Have players build a row of blocks out from the back of the first base to say, 50 blocks. Then they place the second base as close as they can to the end of those blocks. This way there's no guess work and the base could still be placed with out extensive digging.
