If you find that there are weird coloured checkerboards on the model when brought into SFM, it may be because I employ the enhanced TF2 Cubemap gold and sheen textures in the vmt. Go to this link and subscribe to the cubemaps and follow the instruction in the description there to enable them. Then do a mat_reloadallmaterials in the console and move the playhead to see if that corrected the problem.
