Description
The Gravity Collector -Cap- Is a unit Developed for the CDI modular Stations to put Official "ENDS" on open Station platforms.

This Unit allows for Remote of Manned Vessels to Unload cargo Via Ejectors, and have said cargo be pulled into the device using Gravity Fields. This method allows for Multiple Ships to Eject cargo into the effective range of the unit and reserve a fair amount of Space in the immediate area around the Unit. This also allows pilots to be slightly less accurate and increase the amount of angles one can offload ejected content.

Features Include:

- 8 Collectors
- 1 Projector (Boundary Visual)
- (EPR) External Parts Requisition
- External Catwalk

All Sectional Pieces can be found here:

Fair points. A two block long target wouldn't be THAT bad, though. Frankly a wider collection area with less depth would suit me fine as well. Your other option(s) would be rotating the collection area to local gravity norm, or extending the collection module to make it longer. If you're fighting against a strict size limit, the collection head could be mounted on a piston (and extended when put in place). There's plenty of other options as well to take when "up" is only a suggestion and not a rule. And I love how you used the hologram to provide a visual cue for alignment, I'll have to remember that trick.

I had considered it, however since these station parts are all modular and I wanted each section to run its own gravity fields for flawless transitions. I would have to extend the unit too much in my opinion to get the same area of capture without forcing the gravitational field into the connecting structures. If gravity generators ever gain the ability for true 6 direction settings I would change it in an instant. If I were to simply do it as the unit stands now the capture area would be reduced to a short 2 block length. Hope that answers your question, sorry for the long reply time.

Slick little widget, but have you considered putting the gravity generator behind a ninth collector (and protecting it from potential damage from unloaded cargo?)

I built a gravity slinger more or less this way, with connectors instead of collectors. Put it out on the end of a boom, too, because it was cranking out something like 50G+ of acceleration at the muzzle
