Throughout antiquity, the regions surrounding the Aegean Sea were home to some of the greatest city-states and empires of the civilised world. Though never unified, and often hostile to one-another, these city states came to collectively be known as the Greeks - champions of science, theatre, civic culture and warfare alike. Through the conquests of Alexander the Great and the expansion of Greek colonies throughout the Mediterranean, Hellenic culture spread to the ends of the earth and brought the culture of the Greek isles to millions. In times of war, Spartan soldiers stood tall against threats far greater to protect Greece as a whole, while Athenian democracy remains an inspiration for states worldwide to this day. Yet despite their shared culture and heritage, the Greek states were never unified. Hence the Greek civilisation from Vanilla is split with this mod into four - Athens, Macedon, Pergamon, and Sparta.
