That's not quite the intended solution, at least if my memory serves, but it's so close it doesn't really make much difference.

A really challenging and intricate map, but I think how I did it wasn't the intended solution. I was able to get a portal in the room where the button that activates the laser is and another in the big room. after that I the glass cube on the button and refracted the laser to a spot in the main room, and used portals to make the laser hit the reciever like in the pictures. http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Slimpack/GentleDropSolution.jpg

your maps are really challenging, I don't think I've ever solved one the way it was supposed to be done :p

Brilliant map - hard for all the right reasons. I didn't manage to get the final laser relay active in such a way that I had a cube spare to complete the map. I'll have to try again later. No complaints about the map structure, except it was sometimes unclear what all the buttons and relays did. Thanks for mapping.

It should automatically refire if you lose the cube, I didn't realise you could get permanently separated from it.

That was hard. I ended up using all the puzzle elements, so I think I solved it in the intended way.

At one point I thought I was stuck, with the lens cube on the laser switch in the upper room and me outside with the other cube and my portals . But as it turned out, I was actually just a couple of portals away from a solution.

But I think that if the lens cube had been sitting beside that switch , then I would have been stuck for good, as I don't think there's any way then to bring down the barrier that blocks access to the laser switch. Is there any reason there's no switch to activate the lens cube dropper?

Please, do tell.

Wow, that was tough. A lot of trial and error. I think I skipped a bunch of the puzzle elements and probably did some unanticipated things.

Then between us we've just worked out two extra solutions

I'm not sure what bridge you are referring to lowering. But I did use the light-bridge to reflect the top laser and stack the two cubes to get up on the main bridge into the room with two buttons. It worked out just fine, I still felt like I had to be clever to solve the puzzles :)

I'm guessing you used the lightbridge to get onto the bridge before lowering it to avoid using the buttons?
