Advanced Quarrys

Description
The ultimate in quarry options.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Mar 12th
Fixed a couple bugs. First bug was with the network call to confirm quarry in a network game. Second bug was with the Mk5 quarry power use.

NEW Mk5 Quarry options. New options in the config allow more flexibility in what it mines.
"AllOre" will mine all T1, T2, and T3 ores.
"Garbage" will mine all garbage and attempt to push it into a hopper instead of destroying it. Be ready for a massive amount of material!

By default, the config files can be located here:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\254200\726952475"

HUGE UPDATE! Jan 31st.

All quarries now network ready, sending commands over the network. All config files have a fallback in case something happens to the file the game won't be upset. If the quarry isn't doing what you think it should, check those files!

ADDED Mk5 Quarry!!!
This BEAST is a Multiblock! A huge 3x3x3 quarry giving you more faces for power input and item processing.
Featuring more customization options than ever: mine up to 8 different ores, including Hardened Resin and Uranium! (Uranium mining for those with my Nuclear Reactor mod).

Once built, rotate the structure using R to get it pointing where you want, use the massive floating laser as a guide.

Build this beast anywhere above 900 depth.

Power use depends on what it is mining. All power use values are configurable! Has NO limit on what it can clear as it goes deeper.

I highly recommend you find and edit the Config file to mine what you want! Default is just Coal and Resin.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mk1 Quarry digs a larger area (17x17) than the Basic Quarry. Ores are dug at 20% efficiency. Power use changes depending on the type of block mined. Regular non-ore blocks are mined at 75+Depth Power per block, Ores are dug with a 25% multiplier to this. Limited power storage makes this quarry ideal for T1 to T2 ores.

Mk2 Quarry digs an even larger area (33x33) with ores dug at a 50% efficiency. This quarry is a workhorse but that extra efficiency comes at a power cost. Base power for this machine is 150 + depth, same as the Basic, but ores multiply that by 2x. The power storage and transfer abilities make this quarry able to dig down extremely far, beyond when most ores are even present.

Mk3 Quarry (aka "The World Eater") is the workhorse of the group. This advanced piece of technology has a truly massive dig area (65x65), pulls ores at 100% efficiency, and has the option to SKIP up to 4 types of ore. So if you want to limit what this quarry digs up, you can. By default it will skip Coal, Copper, and Tin so you can get to the deeper ores faster. This setting can (of course) be configured using the QuarryConfig.xml file in the mod's directory.

The Mk3 quarry has a massive power-pool and maxed transfer rates due to the fact drawing ores at 100% efficiency boosts the ore-only extraction by 4x. If this beast hits a 1million iron vein, it WILL pull 1 million ore out of it.

Mk4 Quarry!
This quarry, dubbed the "Hole Puncher" is a monster. Covering a (configurable) 15x15 area this thing can chew through material unlike anything in the game. First, it automatically voids 'garbage' material, no need to set up a huge maceration area. Second, it mines at 100% efficiency at a rate of 1200 ore per minute. Yes, 20 ore per second. Get those matter movers ready. When pushing through garbage it goes even faster, 80 blocks per second. Yes, 80.

So, what does it cost to power this beast? Well, a lot. First it consumes a baseline of 1000 power per second, add to that a dig cost of 75+Depth power per block. And remember, it digs crazy fast. So when this thing is pushing through garbage, it actually uses more power then when it hits ore.

Speaking of Ore, using the Mk4QuarryConfig.xml file, you can set up the 4 types of ore this will ONLY mine. You can set all to "None" to just have it dig a hole, or use one to four types for ore you want to target. It will ignore all other types. Also, there is an option before you confirm the quarry whether it should destroy ores it skips, leaving you with a nice clean shaft straight down. Spotlight is here: https://youtu.be/h7oIR2RaGoA

If you have the Frozen Factory Expansion, or are a Patreon, the Mk3 and MK4 quarries are capable of pulling T4 ores as well, it's up to you on how to solve the sorting and smelting of these special ores. Keep in mind, these ores are about 700m down, so the power required to pull these ores is much higher than using more localized solutions.

I'll see if I can track down the source code.

Hay Buggi would you be willing to opensource this or share it? I really like the work you have done so far and would love to see it back and working properly in the game for all.

And btw I'm not referring specifically to Daedalus and I'm sure he's editing the file right but I was just using that as a general example that releasing into other ppls' environments is a jungle and you can't necessarily take ppls' word that their PCs and game installs are in good order and they are doing everything right and u definitely can't worry about fixing all their problems for them.

I was confused about the size dropping lower from MK3 to MK4. I haven't tested the mod but I was looking at it.

I really don't think you should take it down though. I get it about being "harassed" or it being a rep issue but you can just say it's unsupported or open-source it somehow. Put it on pastebin or whatever?

I mean .. if it works for you well enough for you to release it i trust that it should work for most ppl. I would consider if these reported bugs/issues are even real.

You can't blame yourself when u tell (some, probably most) ppl on steam "edit this xml file" and they come back and say "your thing doesn't work right".

This mod is nearly impossible for me to debug as there are no in-game ways of tracking down bugs. So attempts to fix things are always a 'best guess'. I've been tempted on many occasions to remove the mod completely as some people seem to have major issues while others do not. No idea what to do, and no incentive to spend hours and hours trying to get it bug free. Sorry.

MK4 is a 15x15 area?

I'm trying to deploy a MK 5 quarry, but for some reason, it only builds the chevrons in a 9X9, no matter what size I have in Mk5QuarryConfig.xml (I have tried 21 -> 101, all values were odd). Has anyone else had this issue, or know what might be happening?

I can confirm that the mk5 config.xml is being loaded.
