Dev log
- basically, how it came to life.

Well, the engines turned out to be problematic.
At first I wanted to give F-15 two coaxial flatangle rotors with 16 blades each, here's a picture[i.imgur.com]. Turns out they really dislike being moved sideways, to the point where the entire plane resisted pitching so hard that elevators kept breaking off. Who would've thought?

I had to move half of the steering (which was previously tightly packed in a 1x1x7 space) to the back of the jet, behind the afterburners, then move engines just behind the CoM.

Landing gear got in the way though, and i had to merge the twin engine into a single 24-blade one. That change also meant more vibrations at high RPM, so the engine had to be reinforced and connected to a heavy ballast, for vibration absorbtion.

Many further adjustments were made, including shrinking the landing gear a little to prevent clipping with the engine blades.

I wanted to give it a proper, albeit unauthentic nacelle, but it would have had to be bulky as hell to contain it, which looked awful. I decided to leave the engine exposed, as its passive resistance to sideways movement made it slightly tilt up and down upon pitching. A choice of functionality over form, which I'm sure is understandable.

@juggernaut_797 I believe asians already built an F/A-18, check out a youtube channel called "Workshop No.8", it's featured in some of the videos there. If it's too heavy on blockcount I may be able to build a slimmer version. I don't know, haven't tried it myself.
