Battlezone Weapons SFX Redux

Description
Battlezone 98 Redux Mod Competition Entry

This mod takes samples from real world weapons and replaces the oldschool sounds used by the original Battlezone. 100% compatable with multiplayer.

Though these original sounds were well made in 98' and carry a very distinct impression, they don't convey the true power of the weapons wielded by the units in Battlezone. To remedy this, I have taken samples of weapon fire from across the internet: youtube, freeSound.org, soundBible.com, and other locations, edited the best clips, and inserted them into the game so that all weapons and explosions (minus the few exceptions below) now have a custom tailored sound effect.

The effect? Each weapon now is not only distinct in sound, but the power of the ammunition can be felt as well as seen. Howitzer shells explode with a flattening boom, chain guns now sound like their real world counterparts and not like processed static, and the iconic thumper shakes the very ground with a truly epic roar like that in the opening cinematic.

With this mod, combat now is more powerful, as it should be, and it takes on a new, more guttural feel which I hope users will find much more satisfying than with the old sounds.

Exceptions:

Solar Flare - The firing of the plasma plumes uses the exact same firing sound as the mine drop. This is tolerable with the simple sound effect used as there is room for imagination, but a more modern sound effect is not possible because of this. In order to keep the mod workable in multiplayer, I could not change the fire sound of either the plasma plume or the mine drop, so I left it as it was, seeing the weapon is rarely used anyway.

Red Field, Phantom VIR, Site Camera - These weapons already had strong sound effects, the Site Camera ones being some of my all time favorite sfx from games, so I left them as they were.

Rave Gun - Do I really need to explain this? :) The Rave Gun is a Battlezone classic, and as much as I was tempted to replace it with a track of dubstep music, I left it alone.
