Saurian Dynamics Orbital Landing Craft (Vanilla)

Description
The Backbone of the Orbital Marines

The first Terran ships to hit Martian soil in the Second Colonial War of 2073 were Saurian Dynamics OLC-U/La landing craft. Roaring down to the dusty plain below, they carried the second-line elements of the 14th Orbital Marine division; tanks and gunships, and much-needed supplies. Through countless trips ferrying reinforcments and casualties between the embattled marines and the ESC fleet in orbit, they would come to play a pivotal part in the Siege of Oxia and eventual victory by Terrestrial coalition forces.

Although by now a well aged design, The Saurian Dynamics Orbital Landing Craft (Utility/Light Atmospheric) has proven itself over the years as a versatile and reliable orbital insertion platform, forming the logistical backbone of ESC orbital divisions in operations around the Terrestrial planets.

Systems

Dual Hydrogen thruster arrays give a half a million tons of lifting capacity, with onboard fuel for multiple orbital insertions under 1G influence. Although the OLC-U/La is not rated for orbital reentry on high-atmosphere bodies, electric turbines provide auxiliary lift for extended operations in light atmosphere. The OLC-U/La provides a fully pressurized crew compartment for a pilot, systems specialist, and loadmaster- with accommodations for limited independent sailing. The reconfigurable loading deck conveyor network provides a set of optimal positions to efficiently secure a variety of vehicles and atmospheric aircraft. The Mod 4.11 variant in use today is equipped with a defensive armament suite consisting of dual 25mm independant CIWS turrets, four 7.62mm antipersonnel mounts, and a single 200mm KSWH Multipurpose Rocket Battery.

This is a great design. I was just sketching out something like it when I found this.

That's just an issue with how inertial dampeners are calculated- they don't take into account that the center of mass changes with subgrids. Locking the rotors in either position should help.

Is the break everyone is talking about that the ship tilts forward really really badly when the ramp is deploied?

Thanks, I'll look into it again.
