Description
A mod focused on adding new types of weapons and abilities to Starbound. Currently contains only ranged weapons; new melee types may show up later.

This mod changes the following aspects of the base game:
  • New experimental feature: for the new weapon types this mod introduces only, Uncommon and Rare weapon names gain additional prefixes and suffixes.

This mod adds the following new weapon abilities:
Focused Shot - Ranged Weapon Alt Ability
  • Alternate version of Marked Shot. Harder to use, deals more damage.
  • Upon activation, mouse over an enemy to lock onto it as a target.
  • Keep your mouse near a targeted enemy to focus on it. Enemies outside of line of sight will lose charge slowly. A fully-focused enemy will take 2x weapon damage, with exponential falloff as charge decreases.
  • Once the alt ability key is released, the weapon will quickly release a spread of bullets to hit every targeted enemy within the weapon's line of sight.
  • Appears on randomly generated Sniper Rifles.

This mod adds the following new weapons:
Minigun - New Two-Handed Weapon Type
  • High fire rate, low damage and energy consumption.
  • Has a Spin Up property; miniguns can be charged by firing or by holding right click. They lose charge over time if not spinning up; as charge increases, the minigun fires much faster, but becomes much less accurate and consumes more energy.
  • Possible alternate abilities: Spin Up.
  • Rarity slightly higher than Grenade Launchers and Rocket Launchers (0.8).
  • There are several unrand miniguns, either craftable or findable:
  • - Bluster Cannon, Legendary level 6, found with other random legendaries
  • - Gnominigun, Legendary level 6, found with other random legendaries
  • - The Lawnmower, Legendary level 6, found with other random legendaries
Pepperbox - New One-Handed Weapon Type
  • One-handed variant of shotguns. Faster fire rate, slightly less energy consumption and higher accuracy, at the cost of considerably lower damage and a lack of secondary abilities.
  • Rarity on par with most normal weapons (1.0).

The following changes and additions are planned:
  • Miniguns apply speed reduction while spinning up
  • Unique sprites for new weapon types - current sprites are combinations of other default weapons
  • Unrands for existing weapon types
  • Handcannons - high-damage, two-handed? explosive pistols
  • Mortars - two-handed combinations of rocket and grenade
  • Random Flamethrowers - different elemental effects and specials
  • Crossbows - bows with higher fire rate and lower accuracy/damage, also coming in one-handed Pistol and machinegun-like Repeating varieties
  • Two-handed shields with special abilities (Throw, Bash, Charge)

Hey, I would recommend that you change the minigun sprites to look more like an actual minigun. Other than that, great mod.

So, i found out how to make the miniguns charge faster.
when you rmaking a custom minigun, in the primaryAbility section, put "spinupTime":[number]
It's a bit reversed, lower numbers increase the time, higher decrease.
I'm trying to figure out how to get the spin down action to work
