Description
Block Count: 216

This is a fictional aircraft very loosely based of the JU-88, hence the name B-88. This is my largest aircraft to date, its also one of my more experimental designs, it features a new RTC rudder for very efficient yawing, and variable pitch rotors. The rotor design is a slightly modified version of CCCanyon's, click the link to see a video of how he made his.
Thanks to the variable pitch rotors, the rotor speed is fixed, to control the speed of the aircraft, the pitch of the blade is varied, the pitched blades give an enormous power boost which means you can make very compact engines.
Ice-proof!

I know there are a lot of skinpacks involved with this build, but honestly they really add depth to this build, it will look better if you subscribe to them, they are all brilliant packs, but you can of course pick and choose you own packs.

The huge power output makes this craft very fast, I've also made the aircraft very nimble, so it functions as a multi-role fighter, capable of bombing or dog fighting. Controlling the pitch of the blades will vary your airspeed, to take-off push the pitch to its max with Z (the joystick will move forward) to land return the pitch with X.

Controls: (all control surfaces are RTC, if you wish to remap the controls, remap the pistons)
Up and Down keys: Controls pitch
Left and Right keys: Controls roll
Q and E keys: Controls yaw
R shift: Toggle engines (the craft cannot take off with just the engines toggled, the blades need to be tilted)
Z and X keys: Controls the pitch of the propellers, in their default position the blades do not provide much speed, pressing Z will change the angle of pitch and generate much more thrust, the joystick in the cockpit will indicate the level of pitch.
L shift: Toggle reverse thrust, useful for taxing in order to take off.
1 and 2: Raise or lower landing gear
3 and 4: Drop bombs
C key: Cannons
F key: Change view

Many thanks to OttoNL for showcasing this build.

You might find this plane a bit of a handful at 100% speed, I personally prefer to fly it at around 80%.

I hope you enjoy this build, but it may not be for everyone as this is a very fast flyer, novices or those who like slower more stable planes, should give my Red Devil a try.

Of course totally vanilla, no mods or bsg editting, if you want more vanilla builds check out my workshop ;D

Ahhh right, I guess that makes sense

People like inverted controls because pressing down is analogous to pulling back on the stick to go up, and vice versa.

Thank you @Strydom, yeah I find it so strange that most people use inverted controls for flying, I thought the way I had it was the norm :D

Very nice :) took a little getting used to but I like it!

Yes you do have to come in a bit more gentle with a loaded plane, loving the new avatar btw Ross!

It's really easy to fly through the loops in the barren expanse! It's also easy to land if you drop the bombs first. But landing with the bombs can be quite an adventure...

Not making any promises but a folding vanilla plane is defiantly something on my list of builds

why not try to make your building skill going up by trying to make this ?

@[Gone Shopping] Space Mikey, I might do in the future, i've gone with two rotors for this one in order to make it fit in the bounding box, I can't make the wingspan any larger unless I add folding wings, a future project maybe!

nice , wish you made a cersion with four propellers and a bigger wing span tho : /
