  2. Shuffle Paleblood Hunt and/or Hunter’s Nightmare expansion cards into their associated decks.
  3. Prepare the Chalice Dungeon Deck from either of the following suggestions:
    • CLASSIC a.k.a Chalice Dungeon - 7 random Monsters and 3 random Bosses.
    • LONG a.k.a The Hunt - 9 random Monsters and 4 random Bosses.
  4. (Optional) Take another 11 Monster cards and create a reserve deck for certain enemy cards (i.e. Micolash). Discard remaining Monster cards not in a deck.

SET UP AS A STANDALONE GAME
  1. (Optional) Create a substitute for the First Hunter token, the trophy tokens and 5 starting cards if you’re not using Bloodborne™ The Card Game.
  2. Create Upgrade and Chalice Dungeon Monster, Boss and Final Boss decks with the Paleblood Hunt and/or Hunter’s Nightmare cards.

F.A.Q
Q: Does ≤ mean less than or equal to?
Does ≥ mean greater than or equal to?

A: Yes. We used them to save space.

Q: Do I get the bonus damage for Evelyn if I obtain the 5+ Blood Echoes
during my attack?

A: Yes. If you had 3 unbanked Blood Echoes and use Evelyn and obtain 2 Blood
Echoes you get the extra damage during the same attack.

Q: Before cards are removed at the end of the round, do they count as
cards in play?

A: Yes. Make sure you don't go over 7 cards.

Q: Burial Blade; What does “Alive Hunters cannot dream” mean?
A: It means they skip the Hunter’s Dream step if they’re still alive. If they die they enter the dream, obtain an Upgrade card and discarded cards go back into hand.

They still get other bonuses from cards i.e. reduce damage or Beast Claw’s damage.

Q: Why remove the duplicated cards from the base game?
A: In the original version of the game every single base game Upgrade card is duplicated (Cannon and Repeating Pistol each having 4 total copies). We were not fond of this as too many cards would be in the deck if we introduced more. Similar cards have been produced to balance the game, the goal is that almost every card is now unique.

We don’t get rid of the Ludwig’s Rifle duplicate as its special ability relies on another.

Q: For cards like Fire Paper or Monocular - When Hunters play their weapon type are they now affected by applicable conditions against Weapons?
A: Only after they’ve played their Weapon card. They’re still Weapon Cards but without their sub-text special ability in play.

e.g.
- Player A (First Hunter) plays Tiny Tonitrus.
- Player B plays Fire Paper.
- Player C plays Flamesprayer.
- Player D plays Shaman Bone Blade on Hunter C.

Player B hasn’t yet played a melee weapon so he isn’t affected by player A this round, Player C’s Flamesprayer doesn’t affect Player B during the Monster Attacks step. Player B plays any Melee weapon of his choice and deals damage to Monster. Now that he has played a Melee Weapon, the Flamesprayer is now in effect. Player D controls Player C to attack Player B for 4 (2x2) damage.

Hi Arbie, I'm trying to make custom cards for Bloodborne and would like to know from where you made yours? Any info is appreciated.

Hey, I would like to use your expansion with the core + official hunter nightmare expansion, I see you suggest removing the repeated cards from the deck, however you leave 1 copy of each, the problem im having is that you have on your own deck repeated cards with those of the main game as well (such as Evelyn and Rosmarinus) but they have different effects than the official cards, so I end up having lots of cards with the same name and different effects? is this intended? I dont think that naming cards the same but giving them different effects is good for building up memory.

It may be a dumb question, but how do I download this expansion? I can't seem to find a way to do so and I am very excited to try it out.

Alright, guess I missed that line in the official rules, thanks for the quick response.

To clarify further: The Hunter's Dream card (not Beast Claw, etc) still halves damage unless another card says otherwise.
Arbie  [author] 4 May, 2017 @ 12:42pm
You can never lose Hunter's Dream, it will always be in your hand after you've used it. So if you used Hunter's Dream and they used Burial Blade, you will still have Hunter's Dream in your hand next round.

That should be described in the default rules.

As for picking up cards; only if they die.
The Burial Blade prevents people from participating in the Hunter's Dream step if they're still alive. The back of the in-game box asset should detail this.

Now, if a player plays Hunter's Dream with a Burial Blade on the board, do they pick up their cards? It seems somwhat unbalanced if they're not allowed to at the bare minimum, get Hunter's Dream back.
