Description
The Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey is an American multi-mission, tiltrotor military aircraft with both vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities. It is designed to combine the functionality of a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft.

Controls can be found in the pictures above

MOD SUPPORT
MV-22 Osprey supports two mods: VectorThrusters[forum.spiderlinggames.co.uk] by Pixali, and ACM[forum.spiderlinggames.co.uk] by Lench.
NEITHER OF THOSE ARE REQUIRED. They are there to enhance gameplay, but the machine will work fine without them. Feel free to click on the mods' names above to see their respective forum threads, where you can download them.

Features:
  • Fake rotors - Flying block, balloon-assisted propulsion (more info in devlog below)
  • Tiltable nacelles
  • Openable loading ramp
  • 8 bomb-tipped rockets
  • Cockpit with flight instruments
  • Fully automated landing gear (REQUIRES ACM, see MOD SUPPORT above)
  • Heated air from exhaust effect (REQUIRES VectorThrusters, see MOD SUPPORT above)
  • Block count: 605 (607 with VectorThrusters installed)

Special thanks to:
Lench for writing a custom axis that steers the landing gear via ACM[forum.spiderlinggames.co.uk] (<= Click for thread)
Shade, for help with video editing techniques
Fnom3, for letting me use his Weaponized Defender which i slightly modified for the video

Skins used:
  • Modern Aerial Pack by Snake
  • BlackPaint by CCCanyon
  • Cockpit Pack by Neutex
You can find workshop page links to the listed skins on the Required Items List to the right.

    Dev log
    - basically, how it came to life

Again, my initial dream of the osprey being as realistic as it gets went out the window. I built a swashplate for it, but it turned out to be VERY wobbly, and just not powerful enough. It would fly, but only with support of balloons, which is lame. Here is a picture.[i.imgur.com]

It got even worse, as I realised that the swashplate was nowhere near as compact as it would need to be in order to fit inside realistically-sized nacelles, not to mention that the tilting mechanism (for BOTH yaw and heli-plane mode switching) would also have to be fit in there. I decided to abandon the idea and, encouraged by the success of CCCanyon's Sikorsky MH-53, turned it into a fake copter, or "fakopter" as CCC calls those.

It turned out pretty good and saved me a LOT of frustration, which has been the main reason for the osprey being uploaded so late. However, this is probably the only time I will resort to this. IMO, it's a lame solution which hinders progress and minimalisation.

Also I'm deeply sorry for it being so block-heavy. I wanted to make it look like the real thing because I don't think even the chinese have built an authentically-looking replica of the Osprey. This is my most block-heavy machine yet.

    Hope you enjoy!

@Pain Sure, all I'm asking you to do though is including a link to the original in the description as well as mentioning I created the base version. If that's okay with you then go for it!
