PIT OF CARKOON WMD for WORMS WMD v1.0 8/28/2016

LEVEL OVERVIEW
================

For the first time since Worms Armageddon, MnP's Pit of Carkoon makes a comeback in Worms WMD!

R2D2 has had a pretty rough life.

If asked just how bad his life was, he would probably start by telling you in brief about one of his particularly horrible masters who not only can't deliver a line of dialogue for the life of him, but also happened to enslave, corrupt, or kill most of the galaxy's population by the age of about 25. By the time the events of the Battle at Carkoon come up, R2 has thoroughly become addicted to the bottle. And can you blame him? One might guess that the last straw occured in the form of a TIE fighter bolt to the head, with his new master's response simply stated: "I don't need a targeting computer!"

At the crucial moment when Luke was pushed into the Sarlacc, R2D2 had just also taken a dive onto the dance floor, various types of alchohol and other liquids exiting his very unconscious overworked, overtired, and underappreciated droid body. So when Luke majestically leaped back onto the skiff - his hand extended to receive his lightsaber and save the day - no lightsaber managed to find its way to him. Luke's last thoughts were fairly negative ones about his "piece of crap astromech" and something about a targeting computer, as the skiff guard simply pushed him back in, and to his death. Immediately following him were Han (still in carbonite), Chewie and, yes, even Lando (Who was really fooled by that disguise anyway?).

Leai was danced to death, R2D2 left to rot, and C3PO dismantled and tossed in a corner. Not to long after that, the worms came, killed off everyone left over, and have been fighting over the luxury cruise liner ever since!

Oh, and, uhm, Boba Fett slipped on a sleeping Jawa and fell in of his own accord.

Pit Of Carkoon is MnP's answer to redesigning the Classic Jabba's Palace, without actually doing it. In almost everyway, however, Carkoon blows Jabba's Palace out of the proverbial water. Gameplay is set up similar to Air Force One by MnP, providing you with a limited assortment of weapons, but with plenty of drops to mix things up. The Pit is stationed directly beneath two skiffs and Jabba's Sail Barge, making the inevitable 1000-year digestive prospects for each worm a reality. Ninja ropes are unlimited, leaving room for some great feats of acrobatics between the three ships, and the explosive cans and mines only add to the strategic shots each of your worms will be able to brag about as you rack up your marks.

Artistically, this map presented a few problems. Mainly, there was so little information about the interior of the barge itself and how it could be adapted to a worms level background that is primarily dark. Suggestions from several buddies on the Team17 forums really kicked the artwork forward, and ultimately lead to the back story for this map. Another huge issue lay in the creation of the slopes of sand leading into the pit. Thanks to Cyr42 for getting me going in the right direction - now, it truly matches the splendor of the ships above it.

WHO ARE WE?
=============

MEAT and POTATOES Productions is a partnership between two longtime WORMs - The Mighty Beefy and Master Clogz - belonging to teams, The Meat Men and The Veggie Men, respectively. The two of us here at MnP have been playing since the beginning (well, almost) when WORMS was originally released as a demo to the public. Our common obsession has always been pushing the game to its limits, or proving that it has no limits at all. Included in that mission, is our main course so-to-speak, custom level design. Over many years and various procedures of editing, importing, bug-testing and of course playing our own custom designed levels, we have matured to a particularly sick point of being with WORMS.

You have our personal guarantee that the levels you get from MnP will exceed what you thought possible with Worms WMD. You will sweat and scream and laugh hysterically with MnP's hand drawn, full color, original WORMS levels.

Yah, it's an unfortunate limitation of WMD. The Worms Armageddon version doesn't have that problem.

Super fun map, but I just think it would be Waaaaay better if it didn't have that roof on top.
