*Ripley* Before Ripley was introduced we had an aging fleet of Hudsons and Crowes. Hudson was the tried and true fighter but its high cost of both fuel and resources were its downfalls. For each Hudson we could build two Crowe vessels, it just made sense to slow production on the Hudson. But the Crowe was light fighter and didn't have the firepower of Hudson. So we needed a new flagship fighter. We needed Ripley!

Our Ripley unit was a complete success! Firepower, Check! Fuel mileage, Check! Handling, Check! And most importantly it had the Look! We outfitted Ripley with extended range tech and started ramping up production. We had found a worthly successor to Hudson!

So why did we push the next generation of Ripley? Well not only did we want to update our looks to the newer styles, we also needed to adress a few issues with the orignal Ripley. Mainly armor in just the right areas. The 2nd generation of Ripley is still a nimble vessel and we have choosen go the pulse laser route for more rapid firing. Don't not worry we still have 2 plasma cannons on the wing ends for that added secondary ordinance.

We still have a few more ships to update to the new styles and once this is completed we should be just a bit closer to taking back our Moon!

So after testing this against one of the stronger PoIs, while this ship looks great, the space to place critical components is so condensed that after enough hits to break through the first layer of hardened steel, the ammo boxes on both sides of the ship took hits and cause a chain reaction that completely neutralized the ship. Without heavily overhauling the design, I don't even know where to start to properly move/space out all the equipment to safely operate under fire.

Love this ship design, tested out the Gladius simultaneously and completely loved this one so much more. However, your weapons description does not match the most recent update you've made for the ship (though I love that weapon layout 100x more than whats in the description). :)

Yes, I certainly make much use of the Mamba and Copperhead.

@CaptSMurphy Hey thanks! Well I focused more on the early game SV's months ago. As for bases sadly I do not have much for starter types. As for an early game CV, I tried to do that with my Hammerhead CV. But that failed as I started going a different direction on that one.

So that being said I am working on a early starter type CV. Early materails and such, but able to upgrade to the more rare components at a later time.

Months ago I did focus on a more modular type base for your specific needs. Survival turrets and medical chambers and respawns modules. But as for smaller type starter bases I really haven't focused on those.

But I do have you covered for early game SV's! Low cost and survival ready! Be sure to check these out!

Jenniphurr, yours (ZeroG) is the best stuff I have seen in the workshop (with special mention to Kieve and Mr.IceCat). I have noticed, however that ZeroG doesn't really have much in the line of early game items. Items with lower level requirements as well as no Erestrum and Zascosium required. I would like to put ZeroG to the challenge of cheap, early bases and craft, especially a good first CV to warp out to get said Erestrum and Zascosium. Love your work! :)

I just came in here to see what was going on with the docking issue as well, as I love the Ripley. I see here there is an answer, thanks :)

Ah I just added docking struts or whatever you call them, also added an O2 station and a fridge removed the constructor for more storage also
BlueKnight 3 Dec, 2016 @ 3:11pm
Yep, I just figured that out. Removed them and was going to let you know but you beat me too it :) Keep up the good work. Your ships are my go to when looking for something new.

@david_vh I was just looking at this issue moments ago. its the vents over the bottom rcs thrusters. Break those off and all good.

Ill update this shortly to reflect the changes
BlueKnight 3 Dec, 2016 @ 2:58pm
No problem. It almost looks like it maybe an invisible collision box, kind of like base turrets have at the bottom.
