How to Get to the Workshop
Before anything, you will have to know how to get to the workshop. First, you need to hover your mouse over the community tab.

It will open up a few options, one of which being the workshop.

Once you have clicked on the workshop, you will be able to choose which game you want to browse for content. Type in Team Fortress 2 and hit enter.

You can specify what you want to look for in the workshop. In this case, you would click on maps.

Downloading a Map
Now you can browse around and check out which map you would like to download.

Once you have found the map you want, click the image and it will take you to a page like this:

Right below the screenshot showcase is a subscribe button. Click it and you will start downloading immediately. If you are in-game while doing this, you may need to log out for the download to start.
Adding a Workshop Map to Your Game
Here is where things get a little bit tricky. You will have to right click Team Fortress 2 in your library list (right next to the community button in the steam browser) and go to properties.

Now go to the Local Files tab and click Browse Local Files. You will be forwarded to some of the game's files.

From here you need to click: steammapps > workshop > content > 440 > and then click on the folder that's there. It will show a file that is similar to this:

Copy it and then go back to the steamapps tab. Once you are there, go through common > Team Fortress 2 > tf > maps and then paste the file you have copied.
Starting Up the Map
Load Team Fortress 2 and press "Find a Game" in the menu. Scroll down and then you can create your own server.

Scroll through the list until you find the map you have downloaded.

Alternatively, you can click "Community Servers" and then search for your workshop map by doing this:

You will not be able to add bots if you choose to do it through Community servers. You might find other people playing on one though.
How to Get to the Console
Go to your options, click "Advanced" and then click "Enable Developer Console."

Once you have done this, press ~ and it will open up the console.
How to Add Bots to Your Workshop Map
While in the console, type in sv_cheats 1 and press enter. Now type in nav_generate. It will take a little while to load but it will allow the bots to navigate around the map. Once it is done loading, it will automatically reload the map. When you are back in type tf_bot_quota_mode easy (replacing easy with medium or hard will work also) and finally tf_bot_quota # (the number of bots you want in your game.)
How to get tr_walkway to work
Tr_Walkway is a great map to hone your skills on. Problem is, a previous update made it so bots do not automatically spawn in. It is not hard to fix but you will have to enter a few commands in each time you want to play on the map. The commands are as follows: sv_cheats 1 , sv_allow_point_servercommand always and map tr_walkway_rc2
Closing
I hope this helped! It is the first guide I have written so feedback is definitely welcome. A rating would be appreciated as well. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them. :)

@Metro They were only programmed to work in CTF, Payload, CP, Koth, and Attack / Defense maps.

@Metro Nav-generate still works, however, some game modes do not work with bots.

@SW64 Sure - I can take a look! Which payload map are you trying to play on? I'll see if I can get it to work on my end, and if I can, I'll walk you through how I did it.

I will probably be slow to respond today because I have some exams I am taking, but I will respond when I can.

Hey! I tried doing this on a custom payload map, yet after multiple attempts, the bots dont seem to do anything. Please tell me theres a fix for this, i really wanna play these payload maps with bots.

@Mario Kart Wii i can broadcast
Silience  [author] 21 Jul, 2024 @ 1:26am
@Tonk Alternatively, I can broadcast what I do if it still doesn't work for you.

@Tonk Hmm... So I went ahead and downloaded the map and everything worked fine for me. Bots are moving and fighting for the point.

Maybe try the commands again? If it still doesn't work you could broadcast your game so I can see exactly what's happening on your end.

i got a workshop map called liminal pools and i used sv_cheats 1 then used nav_generate and it took like 1 minute and i was shocked that it happened so quickly, then i used tf_bot_quota_mode easy and then tf_bot_quota 14 and the bots appeared but they didn't move at all

@Tonk Can you walk me through what you did in detail? I'll try to figure out what's going on
