Description
The Left 4 Dead 2 survivors, before the grime and grit of the zombie apocalypse. GET THE LEFT 4 DEAD 1 DAY ONE SURVIVORS FOR GARRY'S MOD HERE.

These do NOT replace the default models or textures, and you should not need any other games mounted to use this addon.

By popular request, this is the Left 4 Dead 2 survivor models (Nick, Rochelle, Coach, Ellis) using the "Day One" reskins, as originally released on the Left 4 Dead 2 workshop. The "Day One" reskins are cleaned of dirt, blood, and grime to an everyday wear look, along with some minor enhancements to their face textures.

The models have been recompiled as to fix long-standing compatibility issues with Garry's Mod, such as the meshes having missing parts. They include bodygroups for removing their holsters and alternate skins to revert them back to their original "dirty" textures. The dirty textures have been edited to keep the minor enhancements done to their face textures.

FEATURES:
- Recompiled models to fix various issues with Gmod compatibility, though most issues have since been fixed by Gmod developers.
- Full eye, finger, and face posing.
- "Clean" and "Dirty" textures included. Use the Easy Bodygroup Tool to select the skins or hold C, right click the model and use the "skin" options.
- Bodygroups to remove holsters. Use the Easy Bodygroup Tool to select them or hold C, right click the model and use the "bodygroup" options
- Ragdolls with loose physics for easier posing.
- Tweaked hair shaders to address transparency issues when using Lamps on the models.

NOTES/ISSUES:

- No, these are not player models or SNPC's. No, I have no plans to make these player models or SNPC's. Yes, I know other people have made player models out of them. That's because they rerigged them to be compatible with Gmod's animations, while these keep the original bones that aren't.

- The eye shaders require a DirectX 9-capable video card to work properly. No fallback shaders, because apparently they're broken in Gmod. Sorry.

- Several elements of the models, like Rochelle's hair, can be moved around using the Joint Tool or Advanced Bone Tool

can you link me the said addon/s where someone rerigged and made playermodels out of them (including the L4D1 Survivors too)?

I think we're back. Steam had an issue where any links in the description (even when it was kept to Steam's workshop) was causing addons to be locked by the auto-moderation tool. I trimmed all links and that seemed to finally shake things loose, I'm readding the links since it's over but if they're not present you'll know why.

Sorry for the drama. More substantial updates to this addon coming Soon(tm)

@XoNIX: Seems to be stuck in auto-verification limbo over the update. I can't do anything about it right now so hopefully it sorts itself out soon

@Gonzbt/Betel.Arg: Looks like Gmod enabled jigglebones on ragdolls in the latest update. These really need an overhaul and I've been planning one for later in the year, but I'll get an emergency update out to disable those jigglebones for now.

Hopefully I can find what's wrong with them and properly fix them later on, it's a cool feature to have after all this time.

Rochelle and Zoey's hair is moving around like crazy after the game update, can this be fixed in a model update?
Sirgibsalot  [author] 10 Jan @ 8:28am
@Gremlin: That shouldn't be possible. These models don't replace anything regarding the original L4D2 models so I can only guess that you have another addon doing something with the original models.
