Description

Silent Solutions BV is a fake company, I checked the KvK (Dutch Chamber of Commerence) register and there are no companies registered under this name or legal structure. The location of company is also fake and does not exist :) (Note: some images still show the "Silent Solutions LLC." company name, this one is no longer the case)

~~~~~~~~~~ Update 30-09-2016 ~~~~~~~~~~
- Changed fake company name to another legal structure to be sure there are no legal issues.
- Small changes to the blue channel in regards to the brushed metal. Little white spots that appear on the top slide are minimalized.
- Updated the wear for the bullet extractor so it's more worn at 0.06
- Added an image showing the wear for the Factory New category. Here you can clearly see the differences between 0.00x and 0.06x
Confusk
Finally Finally Finally. After a long time of not being able to post anything I'm back with another skin. I've been keen to learning the hydrographic finish and getting familiar with it's style. I wanted to start with an USP-S skin because I have made none in the past and it's big challenge. What you can see in the image carousel is the offspring of 2 weeks of work. Almost all the images are in 4K so if you want a closer look at the detail just open the image in a new tab and zoom in. Keep an eye out on the workshop in the upcoming week because I got 6 more colour variants in the making :)
Work Progress
The work progress was pretty fun. First I jumped straight in the workbench and looked at the USP-S and set the colors to simple B(lack) R(ed) G(reen) B(lue) and the first thing I noticed was that only the trigger became a solid color, in this case green. That's when I knew I had to use green as my shading colour. In a presentation from GDC 2014 a technical artist from Valve talked about defining geometry by using a shading layer and that's what I did at first with the green colour, this way the trigger would be a dark shade of grey. After that it was simply applying the Red channel on the desired places for colour and the Blue channel for white spots.
Making The Alpha Channel
For wear I decided to look at what makes this weapon valuable. It didn't took me long to realise that the grey colour makes this weapon worthwhile using and the bullet extractor in particular. So I made sure that at the Float Value of 0.00 the bullet extractor was scratchless and that it wears the quickest. This makes a 0.00x version more valuable then a 0.06x. When the weapon gets to minimal wear you start noticing the scratches on the silencer of the gun. The grey front starts scratching and is really scratched at 0.14x. This, once again, makes a 0.08x more valuable then a 0.14x. This goes on for Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The maximum float value is 0.80!
Last Words
I really enjoyed making this weapon skin and I am glad with the result. I will definitly continue making these hydrographic skin because I like the challenge. 2 Weeks ago I started studying at the Erasmus University so have a pretty busy schedule. I will however keep uploading weapon skins but not as often as I'd like. I hope you guys enjoy this skin as much as I do and I'll hope you can leave me a positive yes vote! :)
