Zapovista

Description
Zapovista is not meant to be a replication of an actual place, I built it primarily with gameplay in mind. The core heightmap is originally from the area around Manzanillo, Mexico, but was then heavily altered by me for the sake of gameplay. There is a mountain ridge with a train tunnel (single track), and a large mountain pass for the highway. There is a marshland you can drain or canal if you wish, there are no sources of water there I simply use sea level. I found it too unstable otherwise, and I want to leave open the possibility of land reclamation. The mountain ridges have lots of ore, two other areas have oil, and there are two large patches of fertile land. There are also several beach-side cliffs like are common on the pacific coast where the land is very flat at sea level and then met by a very sharp climb before leveling out again. There are two peninsulas, each with a harbor ability.

While the mountains are very Pacific, the trees are not. Mostly to complete the marshland, I used a combination of Bald Cypress, Live Oak and Southern Oak trees along with Glua’s Grass and Tall Grass Clusters. I use those trees and grass throughout the rest of the map to keep consistency. To prevent the trees from dying in the marshland, I use BloodyPenguin’s “No Radioactive Desert and More!” to disable the trees from dying in proximity to water. I placed them in the water using Prop Anarchy, but I don’t believe that’s essential to play.

I used the Realistic V2.0.11 Tropical theme, but feel free to use whatever you prefer.

I made this for myself, and it therefore has many mod requirements that I think enhance it. It makes use of One-Way Train Tracks as well as the Network Expansion mod to give wider highways especially for the mountain pass that is a natural bottleneck.

I will also upload a mod free vanilla version soon.

I use several NExt highway types: two lane (two way and one way), four lane and five lane. I don't use the six lane and I don't use any non-highway roads.
