Twiggie's Trebuchet MK-9

Description
Announcement: I have resolved the issue, you may now fire sheep.

As you may know, the previous version (MK-8) was massive which caused a number of issues. The first was that it could not work without invincibility, and even with invincibility it was fragile. It also caused lag, I could only run it at 4%, which detracts from the spectacle. Finally it could not move, aim or rotate after it had been placed down. I aim to resolve these issues with this (and following) versions.

Currently this Trebuchet can move and rotate with tank steering. Caution is advised when moving or loading as the ammunition is now bombs not boulders. It does not require invincibility, assuming you don't blow yourself up.

Deploy Stabilization Feet - B
Rotate main arm - H & Y
Arm capture/release release - F
Raise/lower arm capture/release system - L
Projectile release - R

Left side wheel controls:
Forward - Q
Reverse - Z

Right side wheel controls:
Forward - E
Reverse - C

In order to get it to fire, please follow the steps below:
- Press "B" to stabilize the trebuchet
- Press "L" to prepare the arm capture mechanism.
- Hold "H" to rotate the arm until it contacts the capture/release mechanism (it might be Y, I've forgotten, both control the arm rotation)
-Ensure the arm is loaded, you can retract the capture mechanism (L) to help bring the grabber closer to the ammunition
- Press "F" to release the arm
- Press "R" to release the projectile at the optimium location in order to hit your target.

With the latest edition of the Trebuchet I wanted to:
-Simplify the firing and loading mechanism
-Allow for aiming by rotation
-Eliminate dependance on external stability control
-Allow the Trebuchet to move
-Simplify ammunition storage and collection
-Reduce the Trebuchet's size
-Minimise lag issues
-Ensure stability while moving
-Eliminate dependancy on god mode tools

It's still a WIP. Issues that I have discovered are:
-preparing it to fire can result in an uncontrolled explosion
-when firing, it fails to launch the projectile any signinificant distance
-moving sometimes leads to breakage
-braking/accelerating is hazardous

Enjoy

It's a lot simpler than what you want to build. It cannot move nor be reloaded.

thanks for the idea, I will look into it

Okay, I've remapped it so that I can use your treb while you update it. It works pretty well (I picked up a ballast after stabilizing the whole thing with the grabbers and shot it no pb) but it is so heavy... You should try to work with ballasts and braces instead of wood.
I've also made a trebuchet so that you can have a look at what I mean : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=599572756

Hi there, just passing by.
You seem pretty dedicated and I would like to see where this is going. Could you please indicate the keys and make sure that keypadless people (like me haha) can use it ?
