in the game the mk18 has sub-sonic ammunition so when you shoot past people it don't go snap crackle pop

no no. You see, this one has subsonic ammunition so it's different. In all seriousness, the mk18 has a shorter barrel than the m4 carbine and also a modified gas system to function reliably with a suppressor attached.
