Report a translation problem
1.HK416A5(11" version) back up front sight was on the top of the front rail no on the gas block.
2.the early HK416 front sight that put on the gas block was not popular among US spec Ops. Becasue it will interfere with suppressor or other type of muzzle device such as AAC or surefire's products, you can't fold it down when you have suppressor on the gun.
3. MARSOC didn't have HK416, I guess your friend serviced in the Marines Force Recon, they do have M27. but M27 use knight's armament folding sight.
