Holomarkers

Description
Allows the player to place holographic stand-ins for future machines to be built.

Stage 1: research "Predictive Planning". Self-craft menu, manufacturing tab fills with holomachines to build. Self-craft for free and apply Actualiser to replace holograms with stuff from your inventory.

Stage 2: research "Repetitive Planning". Place holograms into a assembly to be copied. Link patterner to a pattern storer. Then apply the patterner to assembly to make the pattern storer remember that layout. Applying patterner to a non-holographic surface places a holotemplate that when interacteds with replaces itself with the remembered layout. Holotemplates are valid parts of layouts.

UPDATE version 3: fixes to make the mod run in usual setups. Because of hurry to have some workign version in players hands stuff from stage 2 is provided as-is in a half implemented state. Holotemplates do not open correctly on walls.

Does it still works? :-)

is there any way to make those holograms a bit better distingushable from each other? ive tryed this out and well... it works well but the thing is, if you try to place and plan bigger assembly lines and such with lots of conveyors it ends up in one big mass of blue with no way to look through the entire thing :c thats the only downside i see with this mod.

@Bunny use patterner into pattern storer (step succesfull if light beam on machine) and then use pattern storer to target chunk of holomarks

Maybe I'm missing something, but how do I make a pattern storer store a pattern?

This needs a tutorial video on usage. This is a really powerful tool that could use some good explanation.

This is a nice looking mod and i've yet to get too far in FCE - should really play it again and use this mod for planning.

it now works in Bleeding edge for me. TY for the quick fix

I didn't think to write that I was using bleeding edge of the game so that might be specifically an issue with that version of the game too so I play that branch knowing the game is constantly changing as often as everyday or two. I will play again and attempt to load it now that you've taken a look. TY for your continued support. If it were to continue crashing then I shall blame something on my end and leave it at that. I'll post an update if I remember

This was a real issue on my end preventing almost everyone from using the mod. Beta-branch where I tested it was critically different enough. Now it is tested to work in 14.09 (current bleeding-edge).

I saw that too, I forgot to update, sorry about that but it is version 2 already and i tested it again just for kicks and it crashes immidiately after loading the world with the mod enabled. I really want to use it too. I can imagine planning my whole base out with this mod and I am a visual guy so this is right up my alley. Any clues why it gives a thread crash upon load up? To be fair I use a couple dozen mods and it is entirely possible it is a compatibility thing too. Important details an all
