ABOUT ULTIMATE EDITION
This guide is not updated for the Ultimate Edition of the game and it's unlikely that it ever will, I'm sorry.
Story Related Achievements
The following achievements are unlocked naturally as you progress through the game. They are unmissable.

  • I Ain't Sayin You're A Gravedigger - Unlock the graveyard. You monster
  • How Are We Still Hiring? - Fill up your graveyard with at least 20 tombstones
They are unlocked as soon as one or twenty dungeoneers respectively die. Unless you're extremely skilled you will unlock both as you go through the game.
For the "There's A Graveyard?" achievement, please report to the Hard Achievements section.
  • Trophy Life - Unlock the trophy room
Obtained by beating any boss at the end of a dungeon. 'Nuff said.
  • Bumble In The Jungle - Reach the Azca Jungle
  • Mine. All Mine. - Reach the Dwarven Mining Conglomerate
  • Ivory League Of Jerks - Complete the campaign. Take that Ivory League!
Obtained by unlocking each one of the new areas and then completing the final dungeon. Areas unlocked by the DLCs Pirate's Cove and Ice Cream Headaches don't give any achievement.
  • Sound Investment - Earn 1000 gold with a single dungeoneer
  • REALLY Sound Investment - Earn 5000 gold with a single dungeoneer
While on paper they sound like really grindy achievements, you actually get 1000 gold for completing all the dungeons in a certain area and you will get 9999 gold for completing the very last dungeon, so you will indeed get both on a normal playthrough.
  • Bath Bomb - Beat Embro before he dries off from his bath
  • Dried Off And Dead - Beat Embro when he's dried off and powered up
These two are obtained at the end of the quest "Beating the Firelord" in the first area and are mutually exclusive: if you manage to reach Embro's tile before 12 turns and beat it you'll get the first one, but if you can't make there in time Embro will come at you'll have to beat him while he's at full HP (he has 3 less HP if you reach him first). Just beat him in either way as you will be able to retry the dungeon again when you'll have completed all dungeons in the first area.
Reaching him before he's dried off requires a little luck with the RNG. Try to go left as soon as possible to reach the yellow fountain and don't place anything two tiles below Embro to increase the number of possible tiles you can use to get to him and lure the dungeoneer with gold or monsters in order to make him stay near the boss until you get a tile that connects to him. The dungeoneer will cross two tiles at once if he/she already explored them, but if there's gold or a monster on the next tile he/she will stop when reaching it. You can use the same strategy for each quest where you're required to reach a certain tile before the timer runs out.
Class Related Achievements
The following achievements are obtained by completing any quest for the first time with each one of the classes that are in the game. You don't need to beat an entire dungeon, only one of the three quests it contains.

Starting class
  • A Chump Will Do - Win a quest with the Chump

Level 1 classes (50 gold)
  • Cat Puns Are Clawesome - Win a quest with the Cat Burglar
  • Oi! You What?! - Win a quest with the Bruiser
  • [gleeful victory dance] - Win a quest with the Mime
  • Demands A Nicer Room - Win a quest with the Apprentice

Level 2 classes (500 gold)
  • No Dual Wielding? - Win a quest with the Ranger
  • I'm Gettin' Too Old For This S#!T - Win a quest with the Barbarian
  • Shift To Win - Win a quest with the Shapeshifter
  • I've Got An Ointment For That - Win a quest with the Alchemist

Level 3 classes (2000 gold)
  • The Song Of My People - Win a quest with the Troubador
  • Righteously Right - Win a quest with the Most Holy Grail Knight
  • Play Your Cards Right - Win a quest with the Cartomancer
  • A Great Addition - Win a quest with the Mathemagician
  • We Have The Technology - Win a quest with the Artificer

Since you only need to finish one quest to get each one of these achievements, my advice is to use a dungeoneer of every new class you unlock to run through the first quest of a new dungeon as they're usually very easy to beat. Don't worry if your dungeoneer dies again and again because you will get a new one after another attempt with any other dungeoneer. If you want to be safe or make things quicker you can unlock two classes at a time - even better if they're a magic and a physical class (e.g. Alchemist and Barbarian) - and as soon as one dies try the quest with the other one. Level 3 classes are usually strong enough to beat the first quests on the first try (except maybe the Artificer).
Battle Related Achievements
These achievements are obtained by triggering a specific situation during a battle against a monster or by acquiring a specific status inside the dungeon.

  • Can't Block This! - Win a battle thanks to an unblockable attack overcoming a block
  • Quicker Than Thee - Kill a monster with a quick attack while on 1 hp
These ones exploit specific mechanics within the game and are self-explanatory. Just reduce the opponent's HP and keep a quick or unblockable card in your hand to deal the final blow. Make sure though that the opponent isn't under the effect of Burn/Fire/Bleed or that he doesn't self inflict any damage.
  • Fight Fire With Fire - Use the Ignite attack on a Fire Elemental
Another easy and self-explanatory achievement. Just use the Ignite card (Fire III) on a Fire Elemental and you'll get it. Fire Elementals can be found in Grasslands area. Early loots that give you Fire spells are the Shimmering Cloak, the Cooking Pot or the Sparkling Headband.
  • Pacifist - Without doing damage that turn, let a monster die to their own self-damage
Reduce the opponent's HP to 1, wait for him to play a card that makes him inflict damage to himself and either block or take the damage if you can survive the blow (if you don't you will get "NOOOOOooooo" achievement instead). This one can also be achieved at the same time as the "Who's Stupid Now?" secret achievement.
  • NOOOOOooooo - Die at the same time as killing a monster
  • Skin Of Your Teeth - Kill a monster the same turn Tenacious saves your life
To get the first achievement you have to end a turn with both you and your enemy reaching 0 HP. If you don't have any life saving trait like Tenacious or [x] it will be very easy to get. If you do have Tenacious though, reaching 0 HP at the same time as your enemy will make you get the "Skin Of Your Teeth" achievement instead.
  • What Does Leader Do? - Defeat an opponent with Leader that is buffed
Later in the game you'll find enemies with the Leader trait which gives them +1 HP for each other monster in the tiles surrounding him. Simply defeat one of them while they still have a monster next to them. Monsters with the Leader trait are Rat King (Grasslands), Jungle Shaman, Jungle Warrior (Jungle), Digger, Miner, Vampire (Mines) and Crab King (Cove, only available with Pirates Cove DLC).
  • Power Card - Use a level IV skill card in battle
Level IV cards are unlocked later on by getting specific loots. You can see a list of level IV cards here[guildofdungeoneering.gamepedia.com]; as soon as you play one of them you'll get the achievement.
  • Spoilt For Choice - Draw your entire deck into your hand
  • Massive Attack - Deal 10 or more damage in one attack
  • Uhh.. - Win a battle with four Stupidity cards in your deck
All of these are easily achieved by playing the Cartomancer. Enter the dungeon with one of the Crone items (Crone's Mind being the ideal choice), build a big deck with a lot of cards that make you draw more cards and gather stupidity cards either through scars, gear or Fountains of Stupidity; now, keep drawing until you have the whole deck in your hand (all while keeping you alive with Paper Shield and Counterplay) and finally play Card Storm: if you have 11 cards in your hand including Card Storm you will deal 10 damage to your opponent and most probably kill him in one blow.
  • Meeting With The Boss - Beat a boss without killing any monsters first
You can achieve this one in two different ways. The easy but long way is to wait until you get one of the higher level classes in the game, go back to one of the first boss dungeons and run straight at the boss. The other way is to just run away from the boss and the enemies (as long as they don't move) and open chests to get gear and good cards until you're ready to beat him. Remember that you can slow down a boss chasing you by putting monster cards in his way, giving you more time to collect chests.
  • Tough Fight - Beat a monster 1 level above yours
  • REALLY Tough Fight - Beat a monster 2 levels above yours
To get the first one, pick a dungeon with no countdown timer, where you're not chased by any monster and where you're separated by other monsters, connect a tile to the one you're standing and don't drop any monster card until you draw a level 2 monster. Once you do, just drop it on the other tile, beat it and you'll get the achievement. This is much easier with level 3 classes.
The second one is a little trickier as in normal conditions your dungeoneer will flee higher level monsters and you won't draw any level 3 monster until you're at least level 2. You need therefore to find a dungeon that already contains level 3 monsters and try to reach them without beating any other monster as it would make you level up. You can achieve this in two ways:
- simply connect your dungeoneer to the tile where the monster is and either put some loot on it or, if the monster has the Aggressive trait, let it chase you down;
- if you play the Barbarian, the Deathwish trait will make him/her chase down higher level monsters and gain +2 HP while fighting them. You then have to create a path to the monster and your hero will reach it automatically.
Hard Achievements
These ones are pretty tough or grindy so if you're having any issues you can report to my advices below.

  • Drinking Problem - Have 5 fountain effects stacked at once
  • Look At The Size Of This Thing - Make a dungeon of at least 50 connected tiles
  • Win Streak - Win 10 battles in a single quest
The easy way to get all of these three achievements in a single quest is to follow the advice for the "Tough Fight" achievement (Battle Related Achievements section) and choose a dungeon with no countdown timer, no monster chasing you and no loot tile connected to the one you start on. The first step will be to win 10 battles: keep walking around in circles and playing monster cards until you got a 10 win streak. When you're done you can start creating your big dungeon for the other two achievements. Play every fountain card that you can and use loots to lure the dungeoneer to them, don't play ANY monster card since the fountain effect will end after the first battle and keep the dungeon as open as possible with 4-way tiles leading to open areas to avoid being stuck. Sooner or later you will end up getting the achievements.
  • There's A Graveyard? - Win the game without losing a dungeoneer
Pretty much self-explanatory: just complete the main quest without having a single dungeoneer dying, which means that you won't have any graveyard in your guild.
As you may have guessed, getting this achievement normally is extremely tough because in a true rogue-like fashion the game doesn't allow you to load a previous save state. Exiting a dungeon causes indeed your dungeoneer to die and closing the game through alt+F4 will just make you start inside the dungeon where you left.
If you're having a hard time with it you can still follow these steps to reload a previous save game manually:
1. Be sure you're not inside a dungeon
2. Find the Users\%username\%AppData%\Roaming\dungeoneering\Local Store\ folder on your hard drive and copy its content into another folder
3. If one of your dungeoneers dies, just go back to the guild, close the game and copy back the content into the original folder by overwriting the existing files. Your previous state will be restored!
If you did this correctly, you won't have any graveyard by the end of the game and you will therefore be able to get the achievement.
  • The Hero You Deserve - Win 10 quests with a single Chump
The Chump is your basic hero with meh cards that you'll normally switch for a better hero as soon as you have enough money to purchase one. Winning 10 quests with a Chump can prove to be hard if you don't manage to find good gear. Here are a few tips to make things easier:
- unlock uncommon/rare/epic items in the shop so that you have more chances to find better equipment and therefore better cards in loots;
- following my advice in the classes section, just make him run through the first quest of each dungeon because they are usually very easy;
- save after you've beaten a quest and if you screw up reload a previous save to res your Chump (see above for an explanation on how to reload your save).
  • The Chef - Equip all of these at once: Cooking Pot, Fork, Wooden Stool
  • Oooh, Sparkly! - Equip all of these at once: Arcane Wand, Shimmering Cloak, Sparkly Headband
  • You've Got Mail - Equip all of these at once: Mail Coif, Red Mail, Mace
These are hard for a few reasons: first of all, you need to be lucky enough to find that equipment, and second you have to keep it on you instead of switching for arguably much better gear. With a little organisation though you can make the task much easier.
First of all, you have to know that an equipment will be dropped only if you beat a monster or you open a chest which level corresponds to the one of your loot. This means that if you need to get a level 1 equipment and there are only level 3 monsters in the dungeon you will never be able to get it in this run. If you get to level 3 you will not be able to get level 1 monster cards anymore either, so you need to not reach level 3 until you got all the level 1 equipment you need. With this in mind, let's see the levels of each piece of gear required for the achievements:
  • Chef gear
    • level 1: Fork (weapon), Wooden Stool (off-hand)
    • level 2: Cooking Pot (head)
  • Sparkly gear
    • level 1: Arcane Wand* (weapon)
    • level 2: Sparkly Headband (head), Shimmering Cloak (body)
  • Mail gear
    • level 2: Mail Coif (head)
    • level 3: Red Mail (body), Mace** (weapon)
* Woodworker upgrade required
** Blacksmith upgrade required

Now to get the full chef gear you'll have to fight lvl 1 monsters until you get both a Fork and a Wooden Stool and then fight lvl 2 monsters until you find a Cooking Pot. Following once again my advice for the "Tough Fight" achievement, choose the strongest dungeoneer you have (level 3 classes like the Cartomancer or the Mathemagician are almost always good picks), pick a dungeon with no countdown timer, no monsters chasing you and no loot that you can reach from the starting tile, drop a tile next to you and a level 1 monster on it and then keep fighting level 1 monsters until you get both the Fork and the Wooden Stool, then drop level 2 monsters only until you get the Cooking Pot. Do the same for the two other sets of gear and you'll have the achievement. Remember that you can also play no cards at all in one turn, hence why it is better to choose a quest with no time limit. You can also avoid upgrading your loot in the shop (save for Woodworker and Blacksmith) to increase the chances to get the equipment you're searching for.
Secret Achievements
  • Who's Stupid Now? - Play a stupidity card and still win a battle that turn
Find an opponent that has attacks that inflict damage to himself, keep a stupidity card in your hand and wait for him to be at 1 HP to play it. If you didn't die that turn you'll get the achievement.
  • Inconceivable - Lose to the rubber ducky
The rubber ducky is a level 0 enemy found in the very first dungeon. It's the only place you'll encounter it and it's very hard to be beaten by it because all of its attacks deal self-damage. There is already another Steam guide about this so I suggest to just go read it.

Correction - Rubber Ducky is the boss of the second quest "Scorching Spoils" in the Dungeon "Firelord."

Some additional info for Ultimate Edition:

In the game menu, you can enable +1 Health and 5x gold per dungeon (allows you to earn 5x the normal amount of gold, but does not multiple gold per tile/kill/loot). Enabling either/both of these does NOT disable achievements.

Runemaster - 6 fate abilities - the game does NOT tell you that 3 of these are available out of combat by clicking on the "fate" circle in the upper right.

Class-specific achievements - most of them are easy, just follow the description text.

We Have The Technology (Artificer) - description is wrong, while level 2 you need to deal 4 damage with Utility Belt, which deals 1 damage per equipped gear slot. Farm level 1 monsters in a dungeon until you have full equipment, then play the Utility Belt card.

Rubber Ducky is now the last boss of the dungeon "Firelord" - it's also a great target for the Barbarian class achievement and Meeting With the Boss.

good and complete guide. Kinda a let down on the hard acheivement sections. Instead of actual advice, the same savefile cheat is given :verybad:

a little side-note: it wasn't obvious to me, but the fountains have to be different for the corresponding achievement to tick. The effects of the similar fountains don't add up and do not count for the means of the "Drinking problem".

As for the rest of it - a really helpful guide, thanks for making that. I use it a lot :)

The "What Does Leader Do?" achievement is wrong or has changed, the description is "Defeat an opponent with Leader that is buffed by at least 4 health", which makes it a little harder to get, as it's not simple to have all these enemies packed around the same location...

I'm a little disappointed there is not an achievement about health building. i currently have an extra 110 hearts on a level 3 cartomancer because i found a loop that gives me 1 to 2 health per turn.

You're missing "Flawless Victory" achievement on your list.
