More Furniture.
In my opinion, a REQUIRED mod to your save games, not that if ANY mods require another mod, you must download that mod, as this is a list of necessary mods, not their requirements.

This is a fairly simple mod, it adds in mroe furniture, endtables for your beds, to provide a small sleeping bonus to nearby beds, modular couches, more carpet types, and generally, things that should've been in the game by default.

The Mod Itself
A Dog Said.
This is a mod, that needs a little bit more explaining.

In the default game, you'd better pray that your battle animals didn't lose a limb, because there'd be no way to get that limb back, this mod fixes that, and more! A Dog Said, makes it so that you can craft limbs at the animal prostetics workbench, this will allow you to craft, bionic parts, organs, basic prostetic limbs, and even other bits, such as ears, and eyes.

Here is an example!

The Mod Itself
Expanded Prosthetics And Organ Engineering.
This mod does what A Dog Said, but with humans.

This will edit how peg legs work by default, in the default game, you perform an operation on a colonist, and the operator makes the peg leg appear out of thin air with some wood, this mod adds MANY researchable crafting stations, which will allow you to craft, makeshift organs, synthetic organs, bionics, advanced bionics, basic prostetics, ribs, brain implants, ears, a nose replacement, and a pelvis replacement, and much, much more!

Here's an example!

The Mod Itself
No Prisoner Harvesting Guilt.
Simple mod.

It makes colonists not angry over harvesting that one guy who tried to stab your dog to death with a wooden shiv's left kidney, and left lung.

The Mod Itself
Medieval Times.
This mod, this mod has so many features, that I could make an entire guide to describe everything.

This mod, in it's basic, adds levels to tribal colony players, by default, tribal colonies are pretty bare bones, only sandbags, and deadfall traps for security, no electricity, it's pretty sucky, and boring to watch, from a Youtuber point of view.
This mod fixes that, adding a metric @#!^ ton of researchable goodies, from alternatives to the passive cooler, in the form of the ice box, to catapults, and ballistas, this mod also adds food alternatives, as a normal tribal colony, you'll usually only be eating pemmican and simple meals, this mod lets you makes stews, of different levels of enjoyableness, it also adds a couple new crafting benches, allowing you to make full plate suits of steel, so you're not just wandering around in that damp iguana skin tribalwear!

The Mod Itself
Orion's Hospitality.
This mod makes visitors alot smarter, and alot more interesting, without touching caravans.

First off, this mod will MASSIVELY overhaul the way that you play with visitors and caravans alike, visitors in the vanilla game would kind of wander around, and not do anything.
Now, with this mod they're not useless! They'll need a room first of all, you can of course not give them a room, but they may or may not leave you some goodies if they enjoy their stay, note that they WILL suck up your food, and your drugs.
You may also now recruit your visitors, no longer do you have to sit down, and watch as that awesome visitor wanders off, you want them so badly, but you don't want to anger the entire faction by taking them as your prisoner. Also, as an extra touch, your rescued visitors, may ask if they can join your colony, instead of sucking up your medicine, and then running off.

The Mod Itself
EDB Prepare Carefully.
This is a 100% MUST HAVE mod!

This mod does one thing, and one thing only. Are you sick of having to stare at your screen, spamming down the reroll button, until you find that perfect colonist, and then when you finally find them, they're an old dude who has cancer in five different locations of his body.
This mod lets you change that, and edit your starting colonist's stats, items, their backstory, and their aestetics.

The Mod Itself
Psychology.
[/h1]Simple mod.

It adds more traits.
And that's it.

The Mod Itself
Zombie Apocalypse.
I downloaded this mod yesterday, and it's the best mod ever made in my opinion.

This mod adds zombies to the game, they come in the form of infected factions, they come in massive groups, are slow, and hurt, if they get the chance to bite on someone's wonderful flesh, they can infect it, infected limbs MUST be amputated, or else this colonist will eventually die, and become a zombie themselves.
For example.

They're fairly easy to defend against, they won't tunnel into walls, and can be outpaced by even someone who's stoned out of their mind on smokeleaf joints.

The Mod Itself
Outro.
I made this guide.
I made it.
If you want your mod in or out.
Please leave a comment.
I'll do it as long as you're the original creator.

Psychology adds a whole new social system, and works extremely well with Rumours and Deception, a mod that should be in this guide.

with the zombie apocalypse mod, what about bionic limbs? and what if your colonist gets a bite on their head or torso?

@McFlurry, no it doesn't I have a ton of mods (about 20) and I don't have any sort of frame drop. I only have problems when my colony has lots of colonists (10+), so you should be good. Btw, I use a Clevo W230ST (its a 4ish years old gaming laptop..) so if you have a decend Desktop you should be fine.

What I've personally found from using mods, is that they only stutter once for half a second or so when larger events start, and only just when they start not during, so it's barely noticeable.
