(HDY) Coercer Assault Frigate

The Coercer fills a gap in HDY fleet structure: It performs the task of planetary troop support. The ship is equipped with a variety of Gatling Turrets to combat surface-born threats, while HDY's primary armament, Missiles, fill the job of AA defense. Though the ship cannot carry troops, the ship fills a different secondary role: Combating ships that do. The Coercer's designers equipped the ship with enough firepower to take down troop deployers before they reach the surface, hence making it a planet-born interception and defense ship if need be. The Coercer uses a combination of hydrogen and air-breathing engines to maneuver with relative ease in atmosphere, without sacrificing performance in space. The ship lacks a jumpdrive however, and is not considered a ship for planetary invasion, but rather defense. Its name originates from a misspelling in the official press conference leaflet that announced the Coercer. Someone in the public relations division had accidentially inserted "assault" instead of "defense". Rather than correct the leaflet and risk humiliation, HDY decided to outright rename the ship!
