Description
PAPAL STATES (PIUS IX)
Unique Trait: Papal Infallability
The Faith output of your Capital contributes toward new Social Policies and border expansion. Adopting Policies grants Great Writer Points based on the total followers of your main Religion.

Unique Building: St. Patrick's Battalion
The St. Patrick's Battalion is the unique Rifleman replacement for the Papal States under Pius IX. This unit trains faster the more civilizations you are Influential over. It also begins with half a Movement point for each of those civilizations that also share your main religion in the majority of their cities. Use the St. Patrick's Battalion to quickly defend against any incursions against your divine goals.

Unique Unit: L'Osservatore Press
The L'Osservatore Press is the replacement for the Museum for the Papal States under Pius IX. Unlike the Museum, the L'Osservatore Press contains two slots for Great Works of Writing. With each slot filled, 50% of the city's Tourism output adds to the city's religious pressure. In addition, the L'Osservatore Press does not require a previous Building to be constructed and is unlocked at Industrialization.

The peace soundtrack for this civ is incorrect. It's "Gloria" from Palestrina's mass of Pope Marcellus: "Missa Papae Marcelli"

Just won a Cultural Victory (Turn 316) Deity with the Papal States. Super fun civ for pushing religion around and made the Piety tree relevant. Great work

Could you provide a link to the original arrangement or Youtube video of this mod's specific peace music: "Antoine Brumel: Missa Et ecce terrae motus, Gloria" according to civ wiki?

I can't byy the Swiss Guard. I don't see it. Must I have the right policy (mercanary soldier)?

is it just me or do exactly three very closeby bandit camps immediately appear whenever I choose this civ? It's not nearly as bad with literally any other civ, but when I am the Papal States, I can hardly get me feet off the ground before I'm invaded by ludicrous amounts of bandits.

Tried this mod, but for some reason, when I got my first great prophet, I couldn't found a religion. Same when I got my second one. Anyone else run into this?

Very nice work, but the absense of citystates in YNAEMP is a bummer

I think that the Papal States should probably get a Bonus Belief like Byzantium.
