Prince Dragoon I have a steam life ban. I got it for threatening staff. The guy being disrespectful to me for no good reason and if were not hidinghis identity I would still kick the guys ass.
This "mod" is a simple setting change in the Forgotten Construction set. I just posted it for the benefit of people who are not inclined to tinker with such things.
You might see them surround the guy, but it isn't the same.
AOE is a separate matter. Something like a plank does indeed make it easier to fight larger numbers because you can hit more than your direct target.
I should check though to see if they ever changed the default to a higher number(like it used to be). It is the sort of thing I wouldn't notice with a mod to change the value.
I would upload a screen shot but I have a life ban on this account.
How the game handles this is - for every given creature - they have so many "attack slots." Sort of like - so you want to fight me? Get in line. I can only fight one person at at time.
It used to be a higher, but now it is 1 in vanilla. If your play style is solo character rather than having a party, that's greatly to your advantage. It seriously nerfs the advantage that comes with having large numbers.
It is also highly unrealistic. It means the highly skilled warrior will certainly kill 50 unskilled opponents(one at a time). In reality, that skilled warrior will probably take out some of them, but ultimately fall to superior numbers because he/she can't defend every angle of their body at all times - even from less skilled strikes.
You could also think of it like this - with this mod an outnumbered person/robot/animal will receive(on average) higher incoming damage per second.
