Description
This mod MUST requires 'Long War Perk Pack' or 'Long War 2'
(Readjustment. As you know, these two mod can not coexist)

Paladin is heavy armed unit, providing light support for his squadmates and heavy fire whenever and wherever needed. Paladins are also skilled in melee combat and very effective with their swords at close range.

For long pack mode, I redesigned this class.- So that thay distinguish between Assault and Sinobi class. They can do powerful mid-range support through the Cannon, and are good at countering enemy melee attacks.

Primary weapon: Rifle of Cannon
Secondary weapon: Sword

Paladin has two specialisations, the more offensive one is Swordmaster, and Guardian leans towards the defensive side.

Squaddie:
-Swordsmanship: This soldier can go on missions even if they are wounded. If you score one or more kills on your turn, you are granted a single bonus move.(But Sword Slash ability cannot be used)
-Smite:('XCOM 2 original version' slash skill with a chance to inflict the target with negative mental effects + special ammunition bonus)
-SteadyWeapon(LWP)
-Bladestorm

Corporal:
-Blademaster
-HuntersInstinct(LWP)
- Killzone

Sergeant:
- TacticalSense(LWP)
- Cutthroat(LWP)
- Shredder

Lieutenant:
- Covering Fire
- FieldMedic
- Formidable(LWP)

Captain:
- Vigilant: grants +20 critical hit bonus, +15 defense bonus and +10 dodge bonus for 2 turns.
- Defiance: Paladin gets an additional +10 dodge bonus, +10 defense bonus and +1 mobility. (Passive)
- Personal Disruptor Shield: generates shield around the unit - 3HP, lasts 4 turns, 2 charges and 5 turn cooldown

Major:
- Untouchable
- Disruptor Shield Generator :generates shield around Paladin - 5HP, lasts 3 turns, 2 charges and 3 turn cooldown
- CoolUnderPressure(LWP)

Colonel:
- Bulwark (same as SPARK)
- Sentinel ('XCOM 2 original version')
- CloseCombatSpecialist (LWP)

Brigadier:
- Fortress
- Solace
- Sacrifice(Same as SPARK)

I suggest Swordsmanship as basic level 1 ability. Edit: I see second half of Swordsmanship IS Implacable. For some reason I thought it was no need to sit out+blade master. Well it could be: +1/+2 with melee weapons + no need to sit out.
For other powers, I think of Paladins as heavy tanks that benefit teammates. Instead of healing, because it's not a Psi or Gremlin class, add shields. Example: Give all nearby teammates shields then suppress an enemy; Killing an enemy with your secondary gives shields to Paladin and nearby teammates.
Steady Weapon is needless and a waste of an icon space

but thank you for mod. I hope my feedback is constructive and not inflammatory.

One of my starting four is this and the abilities at Squaddie are just too much.
Implacable is very good, and I used it to good effect, but it doesn't feel right for a cannon class. What if instead of movement, it gave an extra attack. Kill with secondary, free attack with primary (not level 1 ability)
Bladestorm is very very good; not level 1 ability.

@Mantis: that's more a Bladestorm bug than this class. i had that happen the other day, was actually pretty damn funny.

getting a odd bug where bladestrom is killing things across them map if they move on my paladins O.o

Is it possible, that you can't get another ammunition buff from Smite, if you already are equipped with other ammunition? That would be a shame, getting multiplicative buffs like that sounded like a lot of fun.

I've tested the class (LW2) and I don't seem to get the ammunition buffs by smiting enemies, also never managed to give a mental debuff, what's the chance of applying those?

I also do not see a buff of any such kind on my soldier that would indicate otherwise.

Why is the Field Medic gone? It was my favorite perk for the Paladin.
