Holy City States

Description
This mod allows Religous City States to found religions, complete with flavors for religion names and beliefs!

Ally with a religious city-state (or conquer it) in order to be branded the 'Patron' of its religion (you must also have that religion in most of your cities). A Patron acts like a founder, and recieves the founder benefits of that religion! Patron status is lost when no longer ally / no longer controlling that respective city state. Only one player may be a Patron of a religion at once.

If you conquer a Holy City from a major civilization, you once again recieve the Patron status - so long as the religion is the majority in most of your cities.

Wittenberg founded Catholicism and not Protestantism, which would make sense because it was where Luther hung out

Whichever you have in the majority of your cities will become the religion you are the patron of.

Can you be the Patron of multiuple religions? Say I become the ally of Vatican City (which founded Catholicism) and become its Patron, and then afterwards become the ally of Jerusalem (which founded Judaism). What happens in that scenario?

Are players dependent on passive spread of religion from Religious City States, or do the City States create missionary / great prophet units to spread their religion?
Also, what about religions founded by another civilization? If you completely conquer a civilization, it would make sense that you could adopt their religion.

So long as you can find a way to have most of your cities follow more beliefs, lol.
