hi spowers, they can be but i received a lot of complaints when i changed the version number to the open beta version, as normal version players are unable to play it then. However this can be fixed by the player if they wish to play it in the open beta. The steps below tell you how to make it compatible, it is simply editing a text file.
1. find the map on your computer where steam downloads it. For me this is /SteamLibrary/steamapps/workshop/content/302670/ (then the map number). This maps number is 827112415
2. open the mod.info file in the root directory.
3. edit the line {maxGameVersion "1.025.0"} and change the number to the current version number shown in top left of open beta when you are in the main lobby.
4. save the map.info file
5. start the game and you should now be able to play that map in the open beta.

Difficult and long battle in maze-like map. I love and recommend this !
