Description
The Hezbollah are a Lebanese Shi'ia Islamist political and military group. The position of Hezbollah as an organisation is tenous, as it is both a legitimate political party and a Military organisation. This faction is based on photographs and video footage from August 13th, 2011 to December 30th, 2013. it is important to note that the organisation has since evolved into a much more conventional fighting force and modern Hezbollah look different to this but this mod is based on the EARLY period of the group, when they were more irregular.

HISTORICAL INFO-

The Hezbollah organisation was founded in 1985 to oppose Israel. It has since expanded to become of the largest and most well organised factions in the Middle east, comparable and possibly even more powerful than Islamic State (ISIS) It is currently fighting against both the Western World and ISIS at the same time.

THE FACTION-

The Hezbollah is a large Lebanese organisation, drawing soldiers and forces from the entire Shi-ia Islamic Middle East, and they have carefully concealed their military force's size- estimates range from as few as 5 thousand to as high as over 70,000, greater in power than the actual Lebanese Army. The majority of Hezbollah fighters have mixed military and geurilla equipment, with AKM rifles as standard, and they have more uniformed and issued equipment to portray their organised structure compared to other terrorist groups. Infantry weapons include the AKM, AK-47, RPK-47 and AKS-74-U's, with support from RPG-7's, Metis ATGM teams and small numbers of AK-74's. The standard sidearm is the Makarov PM.

SPECIALIST ELEMENTS-

The Hezbollah has a Elite military and Special Forces unit, known as 'Radwan Unit', in tribute to a Hezbollah member, who are superior fighters and have better equipment than the regular Hezbolla fighters. They are known to wear black, but confirmed photos of the unit are very rare. These veterans are armed with modernised AK-74M's, and have greater access to armour and night vision compared to the regular infantry forces. The Veterans have MP443 Grach's as sidearms instead of the regular Makarov PM's.

SUPPORTS-

They are supported by light and medium armor, such as BMP-1's, BMP-2's, T55's and small numbers of T-72 both with and without additional ERA armour and ZSU-23-4 'Shilkas', as well as static weapons including AA platforms, ATGM missiles in both static and man-portable variants, and 50 caliber and automatic grenade launchers providing anti-infantry firepower. Technicals with a range of anti-infantry and anti-tank armaments or logistical support vehicles are also used.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio and ALiVE support (faction name OHZ ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system.

Mods needed- VSM AOW, NIA AK's, SFF Vehicles and weapons.

Hezbollah [NIA Edition] updated with compatibility fixes, MP signing.

The units have had most of the AK-74's reduced in numbers, replaced with the more common AKM and AK-47 in the region IRL, and the Radwan SOF team has been downgraded as the images I was using for references were parade/display gear, and they did not actually have enough of it to fight with. NVG's and more advanced gear are still more common in SF than infantry, but they should not look radically different as if they were a different faction.

Tanks DLC update-
Complete re-build of the faction from the ground up, with a NEW classname - OHZ

New units include a massive range of additional vehicles and static weapons, including anti-tank, anti-air and anti-infantry static guns, artillery and mortars, BMP-2's and BMP-2 HQ variants, T-72's both with and without ERA armour. Tanks DLC SPG-9 technicals have also been added.

The Infantry and SF forces have been rebalanced for ALiVE, so SOF should be rarer and infantry and support infantry more common. About a dozen new squad types have been added to the Infantry, Support Infantry and SF units, with stand-outs including ATGM and dedicated AT teams, medical, engineer and IED teams, as well as sniper teams as a SF group.

Yeah, I do see what you are getting it, my problem was finding early model M16's. At the time I made this, none were around outside of Unsung (13GB dependency) and RH M4's (not available on the Steam Workshop and getting out of date. I may revisit them and add in a range of new units in an update, and the AK-74's were used really only to differentiate the more elite units from the basic infantry, as I know they are not very common.

One last thing, a weird glitch I found is that if you make a squad of Hezbollah in Dynamic Recon Ops, then choose a custom loadout for yourself, the loadout will be replaced with a basic Hezbollah light outfit if you use the steerable parachute. So you pick a custom loadout, you deploy via HALO, and at first your gear is right. Then you use the parachute and you turn into a basic grunt. Very odd, and only seems to happen with Hezbollah.

Use the mod, like it, but in my opinion you should change their loadouts from AK-74s. Its not inaccurate, per se, but Hezbollah has been pictured using early model M16s and G3s as well. Part of their support from Iran was those types of rifles when the Iranian military upgraded to domestic Khaybar bullpups and such.

Also, since practically no faction for ARMA3 (that I currently have installed beyond the Nam ones) is armed with early model M16s, it would provide a nice change of pace from the roughly 400 other factions more accurately using AK74s.

Notice- For ease of use the dependency list on Steam has changed to use the NIA All-In-One. The mod does not require every NIA weapon pack, and the individual weapons used can be found in the text for those who would rather use each pack individually.

Updated workshop page with new images and some text corrections.

Updated text- I WILL NOT refer to Hezbollah as a Terrorist group, instead they will always be refered to as a political and military group. Please do not get political in the comments- the arguements have been deleted.
