I have personally made 28 major rebuilds and design changes to this ship over the last long while.

The Élan is survival ready with decks for crew members rooms for looking out the windows a messhall, engineering section, cargobay, areas for additional storage more space for additional refineries or more large reactors.
Energy shields will keep you protected for some time depending on the heavy hitting foes you may encounter. there is even a large outer path you can walk around the saucer section. The Élan is equipped with ore detectors so you may scan passing asteriods for ores, camers all around so you may get a better look at what is going on around you. most doors onboard will auto open and auto close for you so you dont need to open or remember to close the doors behind you. the bridge has a few lcds giving you info about your vessel such as shield strength jump drive charge status and weapon status. The Élan is also modestly armed with both Dorsal missles and guns and a set of ventral guns.

I did my best to build a ship that would be fitted to carrying a group of people and keeping them alive and well out in deep space without having a base of operations that is stuck still.
for its size and weight The Élan moves quite well and gets to top speed in no time at all. I took many ideas from all over the workshop when it came to making The Élan what it is now. your free to change or modify the ship as you see fit make it work best for you.But give it a try and see how you like it.
