STAR WARS TIE Interceptor (Outdated)

Description
**NEWER VERSION HERE**

The TIE/IN, or TIE Interceptor, was introduced only a few years after the establishment of the Empire and was a direct descendant of the technological upgrades that defined the TIE Advanced. The TIE Advanced proving too costly to produce on a large scale, the Interceptor shed many of it's nonessential systems, as with it's basic model counterpart before it, making it cheaper and faster to manufacture. The upgraded engines led to a higher top speed than the basic TIE Fighter, and could best most Rebel fighters except for the A-wing, which itself was built to compete with the Interceptor and had a slightly higher top speed.

Equipped with four wing mounted cannons, the Interceptor had twice the firepower of the TIE Fighter causing it's target's shields to fail almost immediately and inflicting catastrophic damage thereafter. This, matched with it's speed, and the skill of the Empire's elite pilots, made the Interceptor a force to be reckoned with, especially in large numbers. It made it's main debut in the Battle of Endor and inflicted mass casualties on the side of the Rebellion before they acheived victory.

Well here you are my faithful followers! A few quick modifications to my TIE Fighter and you have a TIE Interceptor. Quite honestly, next to the AT-AT and AT-ST, one of my most favored Star Wars vehicles. With out a doubt my favorite TIE.

Pretty much the same as my TIE Fighter, obviously the only real change is the wing configuration and cannon placement, so there isn't really much to say that hasn't already been said, thruster damage and all that, except for...

YOU GUYS ARE ALL AWESOME!

ENJOY!

Maybe Yoda could break a few clangy rotors on the deathstar. Many explosions would kill teh deathstar from the interior.... Super Star Destroyers.... RIP... Eclipse Destroyers RIP. Yuuzan Vong.... Welll um.... Organics?

Apparently, Clang is alive and well in the Star Wars universe as well. Someone should have told Yoda, probably would have saved a lot of headache.

I made some TIEs myself. That tends to be the case. Once you get the rotors into that perfect pitch, you safety lock 'em and leave 'em. Or else your craft will rip its own wings off. Fun to watch, but it makes The Empire look bad...

Biomechannibal is correct. Not to mention, you really don't want to go messing around with the rotors the way I have them set up. It won't end well.

TIE Interceptor wings are bent solar arrays, not s-foils; they do not move.
Copperoni (ENFJ-T) 21 Jan, 2017 @ 2:17pm
so u can lock the s-foils like at x-wings?

Hey can you build an Victory-I Class Star Destroyer, with Working Wings (So this part that stand out of the main model?)

They are so useful for great shaping/modeling and can open more ship designs to the world. Clang sucks!

V I use landing gear on largeships to be careful, I made a Mass Effect ship with rotors, i love it.

These are just beautiful. Makes me want to experiment with new angles using rotor safety lock
