Description
POLARIS SPACE INDUSTRIES PHT-5 "STINGRAY" light assault hover tank

Stingray is fast and agile light assault hover tank. Armed with two fixed and two turret mounted gatling guns for close encounters - and a heavy artillery turret for long range well armoured targets.

While not designed for prolonged firefights, Stingray is still able to withstand light weapon fire with ease.

Stingray is very fast and nimble - and has excellent maneuverability and jump capability.

@Angry Capsicum From the Battlezone? That was a cool game. But I think I got the shape from Warhammer 40K Eldar hover tanks...

@drylokol, yes if you built it at level 20 when it became officially available. I thought it was cool looking enough to load it in creative and remove all the turrets, after doing that it made it possible to create it earlier (level 8) then add the gat turrets to it untill I got something better. But it being a level 20 HV I'd think it's be able to take a bit more of a pounding, it's fine against drones (unless its a missile drone) and it doesn't stand a chance against plasma drones. I'm not saying it's overall a bad HV really I'm not if I didn't like it I wouldn't have modded it I would have just built my own from scratch like I've been doing with SVs and Cap ships as well as bases.

@rainyday: I've learned a bit and really the only thing I've done is gone plasma on the side turrets and added lights. :-D Well done!

@Gretstar: The original design isn't a frontal assault vehicle. It's nimble and those cockpit holes are it's best attributes. Pretoection while harvesting/exploring rocks. For POI's, I leverage terrain and snipe. POI heavy weapons are SV targets prirmary targets.

This link leads to my version of this HV, it's not "Much" different overall, although I did remove the extra lights on the back and the flares as they tend to cause lag when you get to many lights on at the same time.

@Greystar Great :) I agree that it's probably quite vulnerable by current standards. I will revisit combat style HV's at some point - even if this isn't quite that, more of a light scout with some long range sniping possibilities. Feel free to post your version as long as you credit the original. Interested to see what kind of changes you made :)
