bk3k's variable planet sizes

Description
Variable planet sizes, different gravity levels. Works as a standalone or with any combination of Frackin Universe and TrueSpace.
Strictly speaking this is a minor difference if you're using FU exclusively but it shouldn't pose a problem. If you use TS (with or without FU), then this will bring larger planets into the mix as well as staggered gravity.

You don't need a new universe
You will need to travel outside of the universe areas that have already generated to see the effect. Keep in mind what happens "on average" won't always reflect every outcome. Some areas of the universe might have more large planets, some might have none, hopefully most will have a reasonable balance.

Besides FU, I'm aware that this is also accomplished in "UniGen - Larger Worlds and Diverse Gravity" (SB forums only).
I made this anyways because I wanted a planet size mod that would work with or without a variety of other mods that also change universe/planet generation. I don't want people playing the "Does this mod work with..." game. Also I want such mods available for both Workshop and non-Workshop using players. So I took matters into my own hands.

This also should work with "Universe Generation Overhaul"(workshop only) too but that mod has been removed :( and my work making it compatible has been a waste.

This mod probably works with "UniGen - Rare Systems" too, but that one may or may not work with others currently.

This should work with most mods that add or change things too. Such companion mods discussed here.

Probably this mod may need tweaked after some gameplay but should be perfectly functional already.

Thanks to Xaliber for the graph showing what planet sizes to expect^

So that you can actually see the varied attributes of the planets you'll now find, I now recommend using "More Planet Info" - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1117007107

Compared to FU's system generation (without this mod as well)
  • This adds "verysmall" as a potential option(not overly likely) to satellite planets.
  • This removes "small" as a potential option for main orbits.
  • Therefore moons are somewhat smaller (on average), and planets larger (on average).
  • Gravity ranges are comparable, but without overlap per planet mass range.

and lornlynx's mods too -

unsure but i think this makes it so lush planet structures like the mine and the gateway dont spawn

Yep, this mod is great but the gravity it's very INTENSE in big planets.

Do planet size also affects day/night cycle length ?

does this work with etc. times bigger planets mods?
because I like the concept but....

It does seem like after uninstalling the mod and start new universe, the changes from my understanding is permanently altered.

I did notice upon installing the mod, the navigation console shows the planets aligned in a syzygy or a straight line. Upon uninstallation and load up with out the mod, the sizes persists along with the day length to an extent. Even after reinstalling Starbound, the day length from this mod still persists.

Yeah I agree with @Maya needs lower gravity.
Maya 30 May, 2022 @ 4:31pm
It would be nice if there was a version with lower gravity

any chance you could make a mod that includes planets sizes like tiny to humongous? I want all different planet sizes in the same game.

I think this mod makes me immune to fall damage
