Knuckle Ball

Description
This was built for the Sphere Emancipation Contest. This is a particularly difficult solution to figure out. It is very counterintuitive. The ergonomics are fairly easy.

Please excuse the old thumbnai. It is from the previous version. Also, the signage for the funnel was lost in the last publish and I cannot edit until the contest is over. The weighted button with the square signage runs the funnel.

I am posting a walkthrough, but I highly discourage using it to learn the solution.

Thanks to Jgaultney, Cowboy and TingShuoBuNengYongZhongWen for helping playtest and find exploits. I'm amazed at the determination to do it wrong.

Very interesting map. The relevant move is, to my tastes, pretty janky, and I got hung up for a while on an interesting sequence involving a null portal that ended up being totally irrelevant. Still, it was satisfying to put the pieces together. Thumbs up.

Fascinating :steammocking::steamhappy: It took me a long time to solve it - great !!
I never have executed this particular special part of the solution before.
And it didn't help to take a break to think - I had to figure it out while playing.
Of course favored.
By the way: If the author does not want solution videos, we players should accept it.

Okaaay, I won't post these shitty stories. What if someone takes it seriously?

I've recorded about a thousand solutions so I wasn't serious really. There's no way to prevent posting publicly available videos on youtube and sweeping up the comment section does nothing. Though I wouldn't post googleable videos either if author explicitly asks for it.

Listen to this story. Senior officer is playing this map and cannot find a solution. The next day he thinks about this map all the time. He cannot concentrate on his work and pushes a wrong button. The third world war starts. The Earth dies. Still n-no?

Hmmm. Interesting discussion. While I have gotten some good feedback from posting solutions, I think back to the puzzles that I have solved that tormented me. Those puzzles had no solutions and I was forced to stop and think. Then when I solved the puzzle it was very rewarding and I felt good about myself and my accomplishment. This particular map took me an incredible amount of time to make and to eliminate unintended solutions. I think that the player should have bo choice but to figure it out.... as strange as the solution is. I will continue to remove posted solutions on this particular map.

Follow my reasoning. Someone playing a map. In some time he opens a video. Then he closes a game, shut down PC and stops heat flow it is emitting, save electricity, save our planet.

I think publicly available solution videos are evil that couldn't be justified under any circumstances.

I had a solution on the page but nearly everyone would give up and watch it so I took it off. But I hate to torture someone after making a map with such an unorthodox solution.

I didn't know publicly available solution videos are prohibited in this place, but I noticed @Joric didn't make a vid, and I was a bit surprised (I don't mind if @SloppySteve removes this vid). Such videos ruin nothing, but they create a temptation, imho. There was a moment I would like to see a solution.
