It's working fine on both the main and test branches of the game. You either have a mod trying to overwrite the same files this mod edits or you have a mod or addon causing a conflict.
You need to disable/turn off all the mods or addons you are running, re-enable this mod and then one by one re-enable any other mods or addons until you find which is conflicting with this mod.
Look at Step 9 and post the logs to the discussion forum, these log files will tell you why the game crashed:

Running fine on my end, you've got something else conflicting or crashing out the game. Plus this was already updated for the latest version of the game.
A few comments down:
Sorry not possible. This mod changes lines in mars_postprocess.h to remove said blur. Visual Realism Pack also modifies the same file thereby overwriting any changes made from this or any other mod which may also edit said file. Therefore they are not compatible with each other.
