This map contains 16 arenas and is made for custom 32 servers.

Thanks for the update! FPS is noticeably better (60-80fps gain on my end), and I like the clever way you walled off the side rooms :P

The am_ prefix is for 1v1 arenas maps, they're different than aim maps (which only have one single "arena").

I updated the map, renamed it am_jackal, closed the side rooms and removed a lot of stuff to hopefully improve the frame rate.

Following question, the map won't work if it is named aim_ and not am_ ? (I will change the name with the next update anyway but I'm just curious)

Thank you for your feedback! We could indeed block the corner rooms with stuff, rocks, planks etc... I will talk about it with Quoting.

Concerning the fps, we did notice a huge drop earlier in the developpement, then we managed to fix it by removing a lot of crap on the floor (infernew high poly rocks), dustmotes and dust clouds (gameplay first, pretty stuff second!) and it fixed the issue on our computers. But we didn't test it on slower computers. I will do another pass and remove stuff.

The statues may also be the cause of the fps drop, they are free models I found on the internet and for which I brutally reduced the amount of polygons leading to an ugly mesh with a lot of uselesss triangles... Will check that too.

Hey, I'm one of the servers from the contest which the maps are going on. A couple things:
1. Rename the file to am_jackal (not aim!)
2. A suggestion: The layout of each arena is fairly large. In 1v1 Arenas servers, typically you see 30 second round times, up to a full minute (at absolute most). I believe the corner "rooms" add a much larger element to each arena, possibly causing a lot of extra time to be used up "finding" your opponent. Now, would removing the corner rooms entirely be the solution? I'm not sure, just throwing ideas out there!
3. My FPS on this map is noticeably lower than most (I run capped @ 400fps with a 4790k & 1070, generally doesn't dip below 350), however I sit around 200-250 on this map. For players with less powerful computers this may cause almost unplayable FPS - I'm honestly not sure, but it's a possibility. Just something to consider!

The map is absolutely stunning, Im extremely impressed! Feel free to add me if you want to talk about it some more!
