Description
Well, it was fun while it lasted. From what I can tell, it's impossible to build ruler ships or stations now, and that's 67% of this entire mod! It'll still work on pre-2.0 games, but going forward we won't have our extra special flagships.

Ever feel that your navy was lacking a little... oomph? Well, let me help you with that!
This mod adds two new civics to the game - Lasting Monuments and Fleet Nodes, that are available to non-hiveminds and hiveminds respectively.

Details:

When an empire has Lasting Monuments, Fleet Nodes, or Command Nodes as one of its civics, it has access to special, ruler-specific military units that are a cut above the rest:
  1. Oversized ships, which can be built once per ten years (or if you get a new ruler). Oversized ships have a 50% bonus to damage, hitpoints, shield points, and armor. They're also physically bigger, to show off their strength.
  2. Oversized stations, which behave the same as oversized ships, but with military stations instead.
  3. Elite Guard Armies, which are assault armies that you can build once per ruler that are moderately more powerful than regular assault armies. They're also slightly more expensive. You get a better elite guard army when you take the first perk of an ascension path.

Compatibility:

This mod should be compatible with just about anything else out there. The only change I've made to vanilla is the elite guard army, which is now tied to the new civics added by this mod instead of government type. It is fully compatible with any mod that adds new ship sizes such as ISB or NSC.

such a shame, was always a ton of fun racing to get the biggest class of ship / station i could before my starting ruler died, and then trying to keep track of said ships to keep them from dying.

The flags that allow you to build ruler ships and ruler stations have no effect now. Even with the civic selected, a starbase does not show the option to build a ruler ship. Constructions ships also no longer have an option to build ruler stations, and starbases don't have an option for a ruler defense platform either.

The mechanic was abandoned by the devs a long time ago, but I made this mod because they didn't remove it. Unfortunately, 2.0's changes to ships and stations have broken the flags. I have some ideas for how I could resurrect the mod, but it would take a lot of tinkering to get figured out.

What flag / tag was removed that broke the ability to make the over sized ships?

I tried to put the code / mod back into the game. There is a problem where i think theyve removed the base code from the game. Its there in the static modifiers, but the trait doesnt trigger a secondary ship :(

it was a great mod, thank you author for it, it's a pity that in 2.0 you will have to play without it, it will be not the same game

Had a problem with building oversized ships/stations/armies as a Machine Empire. Could only build one each and not one every 10 years. You might consider looking into that and it would be great if the mod could be updated for 2.0 =)
