I think this ship could easily be re-worked and updated to make relevant to play. I really wish I had seen the days of 100% solar setups that worked. It would be an awesome way to play and keep the power/heat very low.

I would try reducing the drain and adding some hydrogen fuel power, but currently the frame rate for intersellar rift to too low and the game has become unplayable. There are other solar powered ships which I have done this for because I still liked the design. I am more of an engineer/scientist than an archtect/artist. Hopefully the frame rate problem will be fixed in the future and I will come back to this game or maybe I need an update of some kind since there is an error popping up. The game has some excellent features which make it worth playing otherwise.

@mitchellmckain I am sorry to hear that, yes, the ship was designed before Nuclear reactors existed; it must have become unworkable as a direct result. Any idea to what extent solar was nerfed? In any case, if it is now less than 50% of what it was, i highly recommend not using this ship design anymore.

It looks to me like this ship is basically running on batteries and when they are used up the ship is dead. The power input cannot handle the drain. Perhaps this was designed before the update which made solar powered ships almost unworkable.

@TheBaron It doesnt have them, because it is designed to be fully solar powered. However, if you run everything at 100% continually; it won't easily charge to a good amount; running it at 50% shields for a while should create reserves within a few minutes, though.

@TheBaron I might be out of date.. so might the ship design.. but.. what is a fuel tank?
TheBaron 30 Mar, 2018 @ 2:20pm
Where is the fuel tank?

I'd recommend a crew of 1-2 people, it is an extremely small vessel, and it is specifically designed to be quick to operate for a single person. (i.e. quick access to turrets from cockpit, and quick access to the rift generator from cockpit)

what is the crew size needed for this
