This is a little ship I made for mining those big rocks on planets early in the game, e.g. right after landing. It works really fine, however, going deep down while flipping over is not possible. It can dig into a mountain though.

It also works really good to mine Ice on lakes for your first Space Launch.
Just remove the Drill and rebuild it, facing downwards.
