Description
Entered into Draegast's contest (2nd Place)
The Heinkel Lerche was an experimental VTOL aircraft designed in 1944. It was intended to be a fighter/interceptor capable of taking off from any level ground and capable of flying horizontally in flight. A pair of contra-rotating propellors located in the middle of its annular wing provides its thrust. It's donut-shaped wing would have theoretically functioned like a normal wing, however, it would have been highly impractical. The project never left the drawing board, and was cancelled at the end of the war.

Almost a year ago, I attempted to make this aircraft, but my lack of knowledge made it very unstable and difficult to control. This time, it is much more stable with full controls.

CONTROLS
X: Start Engines
Z: Start Additional Engine
T, G: Pitch
F, H: Roll
R, Y: Yaw
J: Cannons
N: Camera

How to Fly: Press the X and Z keys to take off. Then pitch down to stabilize yourself. Use T, G, F, H, R, and Y to steer. To land, press X to turn off part of the engine and align yourself vertically. The Z engine will slowly lower your craft to the ground. Use the controls to stabilize your craft as you descend.
