Awesome isnt it ! look at the skill, the perfection of form. There is no way you can ever build like this you noob. Me either!! So I Pinched me mates helicopter stuck a pair of rapid fire obscenely big guns on it and blew up some stuff in the campaign
Warlords superstallion, speed boosted and weaponised.
Set Ai according to enemy or it will assume enemy is a big slow battlehship.
no anti air or shields built purely for the purpose of shooting big cannons at stuff

No it hasn't changed. As long as the piece is somewhere along the barrel it's effect works.

nope, they are weakpoints, its designed to fight front on, therfore its better to have the stronger stuff between the enemy and your weaker stuff, the barrel is slightly stronger but only slightly, so there is a single barrel piece in front.
However if you mount them far back, and splash damage gets them, then you can easiily lose the entire barrel
