Sultanate of Rum

Description
This mod allows you to play as Sultan Kayqubad of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum. A forgotten nation, the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum was an off shoot of the bigger Seljuk Empire and was the first major Turkish and Muslim polity in Anatolia. Founded after the Battle of Manzikert the Sultanate has had a profound impact on the history of Anatolia, allowing many Turkic people to settle in the land. It was dring this time that the Kayi tribe came to Anatolia, and from that tribe a man named Osman would be born. And he would change history forever.

Kayqubad was by far the most succesful and famous of all the Sultans of Rum, he lead the nation to it's greatest heights. Conquring tribes, kingdoms and empires alike! Trade, infrastructure and architecture was developted to it's potential. Sultan Kayqubad personally orded the building of many madrasas, caravansareis, hans and wells throughout the nation and had firmly planted the seeds of Islam within Anatolia.

Idk if you're still working on this mod but currently the icons aren't displaying correctly,
Rum has the Ottomans icon instead of its own.
Hope you can fix it soon, as I am working on an AI game that'll use it

rename of seljuks empire
TomNoSocks 19 Nov, 2017 @ 12:56pm
at the time of the sultanate of rum, there was only one major turkish dynasty past the turkmeni region, and that was the seljuks. also have a look at the maps from the time, the seljuks owned persia, and adopted much of it's culture and government. so when i say perso-turkish, it because the seljuk empire was bordering indistinguishable from it's predecessors, only changing in the sultan who ruled it.

perso Turkish ? ,it is Turkish idiot what persians lol Persia many years under rule of Turkish Dynasties
TomNoSocks 20 Feb, 2017 @ 8:52am
@wtfllama yes, in turkish. but that's a product of the sultanate's influence. 'rum' is persian for rome. the persians knew anatolia as 'rum', or rome, because when they captured roman/greek soldiers, they probably asked 'where do you come from' and they said 'rome'. for all the persians knew, anatolia was rome. so when the perso-turkish seljuk empire conquered anatolia, naturally they called it rum. make sense?
WTFLLama 19 Feb, 2017 @ 3:40am
But Seljuk Empire wasn't Rum. Rum means Hellenic people living in a muslim country.

@gleddez True it might make it look nicer, all though dropping the wolf part of the name and just keep the Sgt part of it should work just as well.
