Description
The Stubborn is HDY's new fifth generation Friagte. Don't be fooled by the ship's "cute" design, its firepower is surprisingly high for it's size. Equipped with a pair of fixed rocket pods and four Missile Turrets, the Stubborn can lay waste to engaging units. In addition, the craft is rather nimble, giving it the opportunity to dart around the battlefield, changing positions quickly to avoid a counter attack.
The development history for the Stubborn is a very unique one. Originally, the ship should only be built once, and it would serve as a testbed for the new avionics that were developed after the loss of the fourth generation prototypes during the C.L.A.N.G. crisis. However, the ship proved so reliable and versatile that it was decided to mass-produce the Stubborn.
In combat, the vessel sees use as a brawler: Dishing out high damage to win a fight quickly. Its role in a fleet differs from the usual Frigate role however: The Stubborn is primarily an anti-capital ship, and therefor, it is not capable to perform the ordinary job of fighter-screening to good effect. Instead, the ship would serve as escort to larger or more vulnerable targets such as Carriers or Utility Ships and protect them from flanking attacks by enemy Destroyers, Cruisers or Frigates. Normally, a group of four or five Stuborn's will escort an objective, commanded by a Group Marshall or a Commodore. The group commander will use superior numbers and agility to engage targets above the Stubborn's own weight.
For a Frigate, the ship's defences are surprisingly capable. Many sections such as the crew compartment and the weapons bays are protected by heavy armor, and the ship is designed to withstand frontal fire for longer than one may assume judging by the vessel's size. This comes not without drawbacks however. The ship can only accomodate a crew of two to three officers, and the interior space is small, making the ship all but suitable for deep space missions. Crews will usually reside on a frontier station or outpost, and will only board the ships should they be assigned on a mission, or to do the routine checks and maintenance works.

(Spiegelungsfehler)
Lt. Bild hängt er nicht am Förderbandsystem.

@f1r35t0rm: Haha, yes, somehow it does fit! I was trying to think of some nickname crews would give the ship, Stubby, could be one of them.

I thought it said 'Stubby' when I first looked. I mean, it fits...
SF-1_Raptor 18 Feb, 2017 @ 3:42pm
Yeah. It was a better look.

@SF-1_Raptor: I love the show, can't wait until season two drops in Germany...
I see where it comes from (the gas tanks?) I think. I have to say though, I was more a fan of the sleek and unmodified hull of the old Tachi. It looked sleeker then.

It sort of reminds me of the Rossi from The Expanes.

Thanks, took me a while to come up with that acronym...

Yes the cuddles of death are always good. Also I like how you used the "clang crisis" :tgrin:
