[DPS] The Buffer Puffer 11.0 Part 1

In 1 collection by DPSimulation
DPSimulation - Scenario Collection
104 items
Description
Difficulty: Easy
Length: 70 Minutes Approx
Start Time: 06:08

Warning

This scenario was initially created for my own personal use and I therefore made use of what I own. Although slight modifications have been made for workshop compatibility, this scenario still has a LOT of requirements.

Description

This morning you will be in charge of part of the first leg of the 'Buffer Puffer 11.0' railtour using a pair of DRS Class 37 locomotives and mk1 coaching stock. You will drive part of the first leg between Stafford and Rugby.

Briefing

Starting at Stafford, first release the doors to allow passengers to board before awaiting your departure time of 06:10. You will then call at Tamworth, Nuneaton and Rugby where another driver will take over. As it is early morning, traffic is fairly quiet, no delays are expected and please adhere to the maximum speed of your service which is 75mph.

Notes

I have tried to stay faithful to the timings on this leg of the original tour that ran on 25th January 2014. You will therefore find yourself waiting time at stations along your route. Although 37405 did run on this particular railtour, 37425 has had to substitute for 37610. The timings for the day can be found at http://www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/10s/140125pt.htm

The 'Riviera Line in the Fifties' was chosen for the chocolate and cream coaching stock. Although steam heated, they were specifically chosen because the route was part of the TS2016 package and is likely to be owned by more users than any individual DLC that has similar coaches.

I played all of them. Its really a shame you could not see your way to using the one engine and stock trains for everything else. Or at least have one that needs more payware, and one the just uses what is. Nonetheless F2 is a friend and I played all 7 through! Thank you!

Played it right through this afternoon with no problem at all. Obviously TS does not like a save and resume with this scenario. It is odd why it is only a problem on certain scenarios although PTGRail has a theory that it is to do with the amount of AI traffic - over a certain amount and saving is a bad idea! Still a thoroughly enjoyable ride , I will play part2 tomorrow (without saving).

Possibly Chris, TS has never handled saves very well. Given the scenario was tested four times and has been successfully completed by others, I'd put the save as the culprit. :)

All went fine until 7 miles before Rugby where there was an AI train derailment which finished the scenario. I suspect this was because I had saved the run last night and resumed it this morning. I will try to do the run straight through later today and hopefully all will be OK. I'll report on the result.
