Description
The Fletcher-class was a group of 175 destroyers built for the United States during WW2. Designed in 1939, the Fletcher-class would serve the US and various other navies until 2001. Famous members of this class include the USS Johnston, USS Hoel, and USS Heerman of the infamous Taffy 3 and the unlucky USS William D. Porter, who almost sank the USS Iowa...with President FDR aboard!
